Shopping the #2 pick

The Denver Post is reporting that the Lions are shopping the #2 pick. Denver reportedly wouldn't give up the Lion's asking price of "multiple draft picks that included Denver's No. 21 selection". As I'm one of the large plurality advocating the Lions trade down I'm happy to hear it.

Yes, the Lions have held preliminary discussions with the Broncos regarding the No. 2 pick during the past month, NFL sources confirmed.

But Broncos fans shouldn't get their hopes up.

According to sources, the Lions asked for multiple draft picks that included Denver's No. 21 selection. The Broncos considered the asking price far too high, and trade discussions have ceased.

It depends what Oakland does with the #1 pick.
There are many teams that wouldn't mind moving up for Johnson, Quinn or Russell.  Detroit could possibly make a killing with draft picks or players by waiting it out.  If they don't trade, I'd like to see them take OT Thomas, WR Johnson, QB Quinn or even DE Adams (in that order).  We do need a QB, as Kitna is old, turned the ball over way too much last year and is not the franchise player of years to come, but shoring up the O-Line is a big must.  I'm not sure if Foster (from DEN) will fill that bill.  WR Johnson is supposed to be the 'ultimate player' in the draft.  Hope they do something right this time.  Nothing has panned out in the recent past except Roy Williams.  Millen has shown that he is rather incompetent at all parts of running the team (except for hiring Marinelli and Martz).  Maybe this year will be different.

amen!!!
finally someone else that isn't all over Kitna's short and curlies.  Sure he's a good back-up and alright starter but how long can he play gettin knocked on his can every week?  I would like to see a QB come in.  Who knows though...???
