Lions Establish Practice Squad, Captains

First, the practice squad:

I'm glad to see that the two rookie cornerbacks are on the practice squad, meaning there's a chance we'll see them in any injuries occur in the secondary.  Being a fan of Michigan, I'm also glad to see Ron Bellamy on the squad after working hard to get where he is.

Moving on, the Lions also announced this year's captains.  For the offense, quarterback Jon Kitna and center Dominic Raiola both return for their second straight season as captains.  On defense, defensive tackle Cory Redding and linebacker Ernie Sims get to wear the "C" on their jerseys. They replace James Hall and Dre' Bly, who both were traded in the offseason.  Finally, on special teams, veteran kicker Jason Hanson takes over captain duties to replace Donte Curry, who was released on Saturday.
