Culpepper

Daunte Culpepper works out for Lions. No contract yet, but we'll see. Apparently he broke off contract talks with the Chiefs because he was in contact with another team (I guess it was the Lions.)

I don't really know what to think about this. Would they bring him in for just one year, or do you think it's worth to sign him to a long term deal (NOOOOOOOO please no). Just wanted to get the link out, what does everyone think.

Maybe it could work

I’m an optimistic person, so i think Culpepper should get a shot. His knee probably is better than its been in a while, hes still relatively young and he has experience working with great young WR’s. He’ll do better than what we have now at least.

sign him, what else do we have to lose ?

Whether it be this year, next year, or 50 years from now. The Detroit Lions will eventually win a Super Bowl............I f'n hope.

I agree to an extent

If you sign him, don’t do it at the expense of Stanton. If Stanton starts in ‘08 and really struggles, sign Culpepper for ’09 and let him compete for the starting role. I agree that he has been a product of injury and bad teams. Remember his 39 TD season in Minnesota before the injury – he was unstoppable. He’s not that good now, but he’s not as bad as his outings in Oakland and Miami.
