Dan Orlovsky to Have His Thumb X-Rayed
Bumped from the FanPosts section. More when it comes out.
On Fox's OT show, Jay Glazer said that Dan O. injured his thumb on his throwing hand early in the game. He said he'll be x-rayed tomorrow. Could this mean that Stanton could play next week. Or is it a way to bring Culpepper in and using an injury, as was the case with Kitna, to bench Orlovsky. Either way, I thought Dan played well in the 2nd quarter and I really started having hope for him, but it appears it was a fluke.

Drew Henson
It would be amazing if Henson got some PT – I would love to see that.
He is 1-0 as an NFL starter. Why not give him a shot next week, it will sell some jerseys.

with Culpepper being signed, Henson will be dropped to the practice squad.

Why not drop Orlovsky?
They could pull a Kitna on him. Keep Stanton, Henson and Culpepper. You know Dan’s not the man of the future. Cut him now and let him find somewhere else to play.

Henson is garbage
Does anyone actually think Drew Henson is the answer? Orlovsky played well yesterday. There’s no way in hell putting Henson in the lineup is going to do anything good for the Lions. Not like they’re playing great now, but giving Henson the start would be a terrible idea. He was over-hyped in college (sorry all you U of M fans but it’s true), a bust in MLB and will never do anything worth noting in the NFL. The only reason he’s on our team is to give the practice squad D someone to pick off.

I wouldn't start Henson either
but for a couple weeks, until Culpepper is ready to start, I’d play Stanton with Henson and Culpepper as back-ups. Henson and Orlovsky will be gone at the end of the season anyways. It also sounds like no one thinks Stanton is ready to play either, at least according to this article by Micheal Rosenbrg of The Detroit Free Press. (The guy puts in a few shots at Colletto as well).
So…do they go after someone in the draft? Hang their season next year on Culpepper? Trade or free agency? It’s well past time for them to get a long term fix at QB. Daunte isn’t the long term solution, Stanton may not be the answer and Orlovsky and Henson are definitely not the answer and i would assume that Kitna is gone as well (again, definitely not the answer).

Henson?
Giving Henson a shot is ridiculous. That makes no sense. He screwed up trying to go into MLB and will never make it in the NFL besides a 3rd string/practice squad player.

Am I the only one...
…who thought Orlovsky played pretty well on Sunday against the Bears? He’s getting better each week. Not that I don’t want to see Stanton or even a little intrigued with Culpepper, but with what he has to work with, I think Danny has improved.

I agree
Not that he’s showing signs of a franchise QB but he’s noticeably improving every single game. He’s got to take care of the ball better (INT on the goal line KILLED us) but he also made some great throws, could get out of the pocket and sensed the pressure much better than usual.

I agree as well...
Dan O. looked alot better, and if he played how he played in the 2nd quarter the whole game we wouldn’t need to look for a new qb. But I think it was more of a fluke then what to expect and he just had the best quarter of his career.
