Just listening to Keyshawn and Cris Carter

on ESPN. They actually have it right. Give Scott Pioli anything he wants, have him bring the Pats o-coord as coach and Cassell as QB. Trade the first pick in the draft for multiples everywhere and get some D that can swarm to the ball. 1st time those two guys didn’t sound like idiots….

Cassell would be a nice pick up,

i just hope the lions avoid trading first round picks for him.

by BtotheLT on Dec 21, 2008 12:25 PM EST reply actions

Draft picks

I would strongly suggest that the lions should draft in the first round an offensive LT to beefen up the line, then use the rest of the picks for defense, especially MLB, and cb, and dt. As long as they choose wisely, instead of missing out on key personnel, they should be at least an 8-8 next year. Then again, I might be getting my hopes up. Don’t know, only time will tell.

by kaos1977 on Dec 21, 2008 12:36 PM EST reply actions

I like that plan

Build the OL around a franchise OT and then move on to defense.

cassell?

Really? Do you guys remember scott Michtell? Cassell will be a perfect example of a Qb playing over his head b/c of the team he plays on. If you think Cassell will put up those numbers on Lions you must be crazy! Someone will over pay for a mediocore product.

I agree

I only want him if he comes with McDaniels.

Draft

I hope we can get Macho Harris in the second round. A great corner and even better return man! Just no QB! Don’t trade Draft picks for a QB, I’m sure we could get a good free agent or keep Thunder Dan or finally give stanton a shot

Lions truly suck

I have never seen such a poor display of football (or attempting to play football) in my life. I’m glad Millen is gone (he should have been gone several years ago) but it is time for Ford Sr to step down and let Jr run things. hire a real football guy who can run things the way it should be done. Start from scratch. get rid of everyone in the office (not almost everyone, but everyone). hire a completely new coaching staff (all of them). Keep a few of the players (CJ, Smith, Hanson to name the big 3) and do it right this time.

This is really making me sick to my stomach. I wanna puke.

at this point….do you WANT 0-16?

I say no…and this is why, 5 years ago, the Tigers absolutely sucked ass, and got to the end of the season 6 games to go, needing two losses to tie the worst record of all time…

they take 2 out of three against KC to stay ahead of the record, and then they sweep the season finale series against the playoff bound twinkies to avoid that ignominy.

3 years later, they’re in the World Series.

Now, I’m not suggesting that the pieces are available for the lions to challenge for the super bowl in 2012…but…there’s something to be said for the pride in avoiding that absolute zero that’s outweighing the impulse to say, you’re this close to history, might as well be (im)famous

by ahtrap on Dec 21, 2008 3:21 PM EST reply actions

I certainly don't

At this point 1-15 or 0-16 don’t mean much different regarding personnel as far as I’m concerned. Marinelli and the entire coaching staff/front office have to go. If anyone comes back next season every game will be blacked out.
