I wonder if Stanton is really hurt or if they're just keeping him inactive

 so Culpepper can start and there won’t be calls for Stanton to take over during the game.

I think they don't want Stanton to get hurt

If he got in and took one hit, he could go down for good. I look at Michigan running back Sam McGuffie. He probably came back too quickly after his concussions and ended up with three this season.

honestly...

the best thing that could happen to the lions is to turn this season around and get the 2nd overall pick (which they will be able to get either andre smith or michael oher or matt stafford) without paying out that #1 pick salary.
