Who is getting the Axe or traded?

Spring roster cleaning should be coming soon in order to clear cap room. Roy Williams is supposively safe since trading him apparently will not help. I was wondering who could be cut or traded to help? I have a hard time believing that the team is in this situation. Oh I almost forgot; we have Millen the Clown running the circus! The only two players I see on the roster (other than those that probably won't make the roster anyway) that may be cut or traded are Mike Furrey and Dan Campbell, anybody have any other ideas? Mike Furrey may even get some trade offers, he has shown that he can be a dependable possession receiver.

Cap room isn't that small
And there is no reason to trade Furrey or Campbell.  I'm sure there will be cuts soon, but that is not unusual at all and I don't think it will have much to do with the salary cap.

Pat Kirwan's NFL.com article
http://www.nfl.com/news/story;jsessionid=1E727A3A217555CECE8DB40CA3F2D2DD?id=09000d5d8079422d&te mplate=with-video&confirm=true

I was responding to the above article where Kirwan says :
"The Lions have already dumped the salaries of Shaun Rogers, Damien Woody, Fernando Bryant, and Kalimba Edwards, who were four of the top five cap charges on the roster heading into 2008. Where do they turn now? Trading Roy Williams would actually create more cap stress because he has more uncharged signing bonus to be accounted for than salary in 2008. The team could look to re-work deals with center Dominic Raiola and/or receiver Calvin Johnson, whose combined salaries total $6.9 million. That would convert much of those salaries into bonuses and create close to $5 million of space. Some might suggest releasing a high-salaried player or insisting on a pay cut for a player like Jeff Backus -- but his salary is much less than the bonus left to pay off and he could easily reject the idea. The Lions don't want to release four or five average-salaried players to get the job done. Consequently, this isn't an easy task to get accomplished. "

Dan Campbell
Dan Campbell does not need to be cut or traded, but this is how I got there:

Campbell is coming off a serious tricep injury and is not getting any younger. There are currently six TEs on the roster. The team signed Michael Gaines and resigned Mchugh and John Owens, with FitzSimmons and two others still on roster. Just seemed to me that Campbell would be one of at least three TEs cut.

correction
meant to say at least two TEs cut.

Nice find
I didn't realize it was quite that low.  I see your point with Campbell and wouldn't be surprised to see him go after training camp if he isn't healthy, but at this point I think he'll stay since he's a good blocking TE.  In Martz's offense that meant nothing, but now that the running game is the focus, I would bet on him staying.

Cap room

I am just trying to speculate how the cap room fiasco can be resolved. I brought Cambell's and Furreys names up because they were the only "big name" players that I could come up with that are possibly expendable, unfortunate as that may be. Hopefully the team can just restructure some contracts, but that requires player cooperation. I wonder if Kirwan included Kevin Jones' dismissal, his name was not on the list, perhaps the situation is not as bleek as it seems. I hope so, or the team can expect more talent bleeding.
