I want your opinion!

What do you think is the reason for our 8 9 years of infertility? How do we change this?  Who should we build the Offense around who should we build the defense around? Is it the defense is it  the offense is it the coaches enlighten me! Do you think we could win with the team we have now. Are we about to be the new millinium Cards? Let me know so I could tell Mr. Ford. lol

Fire Millen

I agree ... kind of...

Firing Millen is only a short term solution, we could or could not end up with someone better. I think Ford is the problem. I don’t think he is intentionally selling us a bad product, but I think he is too old to really grasp how the fan base feels. My only concern is that should Ford ever sell the Lions how loyal will the new owner be to the city, and will the Lions still have enough clout to keep the Thanksgiving Day game that we all love so much.

Good points

I do think Ford is more of a problem than Millen, especially in the long run, but the issue is that I don’t see different ownership anytime soon.

The Worst

They are the worst organization in pro sports. Period. They are clueless on the field and off. Only this team could have an all-world individual like Barry Sanders walk away. The only thing that is more mind-numbing is their fans. I would list the things that are most unbelievable and problematic in this order: 1) Fans, 2) Ford, 3) Millen, 4) M – all their “M” coaches (Marty, Mariucci, and pound the rock Marinelli), and the players. They have the unfathomable custom of cutting bad players (Lehman, Pinner, etc.), having them sign with other teams, having these players have career days against them (yet suck against everyone else), being cut by these teams, then coming back here. There is an unending supply of Kool-Aid in this town for these fans to drink…..

"The Worst" is right

I agree completely. Fans with unwaivering loyalty like me, and there are a lot of us, are the real problem. If we stopped buying tickets the team would make huge changes to draw the fans back. Ford might even wash his hands of the whole thing, as in sell the team. What a glorious day that would be! Even if he doesn’t sell the team Ford, with low ticket sales, would be much more diligent about finding good football people to run the team.

In the meantime, Mr. Ford, if you’re reading this. I’d like to apply for President of the Detroit Lions. I am more qualified than Mr. Millen simply because I am a lifelong fan of your team. He’s trying to create the Detroit Raiders. I’ll keep the team true to its original colors, figuratively and literally. I know football. And I can learn the rest on the job like Millen did. I’d love to work for you because I know that no matter how bad I do I won’t be fired. Please send me a request for a resume. (If I get the interview I’ll need someone to loan me a POS Ford to drive to it.)
