Thursday's preseason opener against the New York Giants will start at 7:00 p.m. ET, but it will not be shown on TV until 9:00 p.m. ET.  That is because the game will be tape delayed, meaning the Lions weren't able to sell out all of their tickets.

Detroit didn't ask for an extension or anything like that as I imagine they are quite a ways away from selling all the tickets.  Instead, they are content with the game being shown on TV 2 hours after it actually starts.

Even though the game will be delayed, I still will provide live updates as originally planned.  The updates won't start until 9:00 p.m. as that is when the game will come on CBS Detroit.
