Marinelli isn’t going to fire his son-in-law, Joe Barry the defensive coordinator. Ford Sr. isn’t going to unload the team to an owner who cares. He’s going to give it to his son. Nepotism is killing the Lions.

I think what we’re seeing here is that Marinelli really isn’t head coach material. He’s a great assistant coach with his heavy hand and focussed determination, but he lacks an imagination that a head coach needs. He’s stuck in the ways he learned in Tampa, the Tampa-two, the players he knows well who are now past their prime, and the glory days in the sun in Florida. Marinelli needs to step up and show that he is a head coach first, and a paternal helper second. He needs to dump Joe Barry.
