Whats up guys, i know this is unrelated to anything happening with the Lions but i felt i should let you guys know about something cool that happened to me. I have never lived in Detroit but for the last 20 years i have been a die hard, honolulu blue bleeding, Lions fan. I live in Chicago and im just an average dude with an average job. Anyway, after saving all of my money for the last 2 years, I bit the bullet and this morning became a Detroit Lions season ticket holder. The only reason im posting this is because you are the only people who have that love/hate relationship with the Lions and when the 09 season starts i would love to have a beer with my friends from Pride of Detroit. Hell i'll even bring the grill !

That’s some true, diehard passion right there. So you’ll drive over from Chicago for each game? Wow, I only live about 2hrs from Ford Field and I thought that was too far. Thanks for the support and keeping the fanbase alive. I get heat all the time for supporting this team when they might not deserve it. But it’s like a marriage, right? For better or for worse. Well, this is the “worse”, let’s just hope next year is the start of the “better”. I think you’ll enjoy those tickets a little more next year than you would have this year. Congrats!

You gotta understand, this site is truly like a support group to me. I cant talk about the Lions over here without being laughed at (which makes me madder at the Lions) as for the commute, It’s like a 4 hour drive, but i have a relatively new car with low mileage. My thought process is that It’s only 8 times a year. Ive done it many times before.
Whether it be this year, next year, or 50 years from now. The Detroit Lions will eventually win a Super Bowl............I f'n hope.

I’m a Lions fan living in Iowa and have taken crap for that fact since about third grade when I first watched Barry Sanders shake defenders out of their jocks. I didn’t find this site until after the season, but it has deffinitely served as a support group for me in the last couple weeks.
This site is like...
therapy for all of us. It feels good to know that you’re not the only crazy soul out there that roots this hard for this teams. Again, I applaude your support!
A lot of crazies here
I’ve been getting crap for decades, even during the Sanders years.
I remember when the Lions had pride, back with Greg Landry, Lem Barney, Charlie Sanders and Mel Farr. Loved those days. Never really started getting major crap until Rogers took over as coach and Hipple and Long were under center. It mellowed a bit with Barry Sanders but once Millen started screwing things up, it’s been relentless.
It’s nice to come here and talk with the rest of you crazies. Makes me feel right at home and anxious for the coming season. I can’t wait for the draft and free agency to begin.
