I think CPep will be in there. I wonder if Jansen will take Gosder’s place if he can’t go??

I commented earlier how the Lions were relatively injury free early this season.
I was referring to serious, season ending injuries, of which we have had none to important players. But these nagging Questionables are really piling up. A test of our depth.
WOW
you guys are more banged up than I thought

Culpepper
I actually wouldn’t mind if Culpepper got to start. Say he started and did a really really terrific job against the Steelers. Then we could put him in trade blocks and could probably get something decent!

With the exception of Stafford
The 4 D-line injuries frighten me the most. I hope Hunter has a big game, like he did against the Skins and I hope Cohen can keep Mendenhall from running through our middle. It’s gonna be a tough one.

Nevermind...
saw it on ESPN.com. Sigh… alright. I was holding out hope that Stafford would tough it out. I have very mixed feeling about Culpepper starting… and I shouldn’t. I should be wanting to root for him to win and play very well. However, if that happens, all the Stafford haters will be out in full force all week and I can’t handle another single second of that B.S. So go Culpepper… I think….
Drew
Agreed – but inside I knew this was coming. I think CPep will slow the game down some but, all in all, won’t give us a better chance of winning IMO. Anyway, go Lions and I’ll see you on POD at 1:00

he will have a good
but not great game. lots of underneath. when he gets sacked 5 times today i think we all be thankful staff & his knee sat out
Reality wins
All the Stafford hating in the universe combined with all the Culpepper worship topped off with a sprinkle of Stanton love won’t change the blatant fact that Stafford comes back and starts no matter what happens in the next few weeks.

I agree times twenty-three and a half
With both of your sentiments Drew. I want the Lions to win today and obviously they will need a very good game from Daunte. However, everyone on this site and all Lions fans know exactly how that scenario will play out over the season.
And also, to all supposed Lions fans, I will have zero tolerance for negativity regarding Daunte’s performance if it is not very good. This is a very tough matchup for the Lions against the defending Super Bowl champions who are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the other AFC playoff contenders. Although this is only game five.

I fully agree with the anti-Culpepper sentiment...
as well. Culpepper should be held to the same standard that Stafford has been held to… by the Stafford PROPONENTS. The pro-Stafford guys cannot do the reverse and jump on here and start tearing down Culpepper. This is his debut for the season in most respects and might be a little rusty, all while going against the best defense in the league. All I hope for is that Culpepper plays a great game, gets a win AND the pro-Culpepper guys can hold their tongue and realize that Stafford IS the quarterback and when healthy, gets HIS spot back. No use even arguing this incredibly stale point any longer. Honestly, I’ll go MIA if that shizzle starts again.
I think it would take a mightly big effort from C-Pep to really get that talk going again

In theory...
the playbook should not change much on offense. If anything, it should open up a bit, considering that Culpepper and Linehan have worked together before. We have nothing to lose, just go for it!
