1-4 is not bad at all in this case

0-16 to… who knows. It was pretty childish to say the lions are a playoff team a few months ago. This is a team in a building stage. They try their best. what else can you ask for? I congragulate Coach Shwartz for his record knowing that this is a 16 game pre-season.

This was a tough one

I voted for Kicking in the end, mainly because Hanson is so consistently good (despite his miss today, but geez, he kicked 17 straight or whatever). Could’ve also went with Linebackers, Running Backs or Receivers.

2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).

I voted LB's run defense

ever though Stafford’s play has been a big surprise. Another category could have been. Rookie contribution. I think that has been the biggest strength so far this season

I agree

Though none of these facets have been consistent yet, our LB play has been miles better than it was last year, and I like that. Now if they could stop biting on play-action in the redzone, I’d be even happier.

I wish I could re-vote I would vote Kicking

Harris and Hanson are really good. I don’t think we know how good we have it with them really.

So hard to choose

I might have said pass blocking until Culpepper made our line look like it was playing in 2008.

Let me be a little clearer

Pass blocking may not be our greatest strength, but I think they are the most improved unit from a year ago.

Unless CP is in.

Stafford...

is the real deal guys, and everyone in the league knows it.

I agree

Everyone that talks about stafford talks about how he looks good and has “it” and that he is doing amazingly well for the situation he is in…

Stafford is the man....

But he is injured…..so as long as he can’t play, Culpepper is the man. As soon as Stafford is able to play, I think we all (including me) want him back in there. I have seen you and many others ripping on Culpepper for the 3 straight sacks against the Steelers in the 4th QTR…..did you watch the game? You say he had outlets……I call BULLSH*T. He had time to throw ONCE out of those three plays, and the coverage was so tight that he could not throw without turning the ball over. Do you guys think he should have just thrown it anyway on that first sack or what? Why not just heave up another INT?? I can’t believe some of what I have read here since Sunday…..ridiculous.

I waited a couple of days to comment..

because I was not able to watch the game. I had to wait until the NFL network replayed the game. Culpepper looked like a back up. Not trying to discredit Culpepper. But, at times he looked somewhat unsure of what to do. I know not having CJ in. And playing behind a phantom offensive line. Will do that to any quarterback. He made some great plays. And he made some bad mistakes. But the Lions were in position to win the game because of Culpepper. Not because of the running game. Not because of the defense. I think Culpepper has some mobility issues. Not in the ability to take off and run with the ball. But in his lateral movement. Side stepping or stepping up in the pocket. And it did not seem he had his old arm stength either. But overall I would have given him a passing grade. I think some people are on him. Because, like myself. Felt that he would be mistake free. He is the vet. He would not make dumb mistakes. That seems alittle unfair. After all they were playing the Steelers.

I thought Jansen played well though. When Gos comes back. I am praying that Schwartz puts Gos at LT. At lest give him a shot. I keep seeing Harrison bull rushing Backus in me sleep. Dosen’t Backus out weight Harrison by 60 lbs.? This failed nine year experiment of Backus playing LT. It has got to end.

Our only real threat is CJ

As it stands today. Other areas of the team are IMPROVING (including Staff) but as it stands today what is the one thing other teams can point to and say they want – it is only CJ they would desire IMO
