Roy Williams Officially on Shit-List
I used to like Roy Williams, a lot, and even after he went to the ass-star state. He was so nice and enthusiastic but after this I give Roy Williams a GIANT FUCKKKK YOUUUUU.
"Strong quote from former Lions receiver Roy Williams on his former head coach, current Bears defensive line coach Rod Marinelli: “If Rod were to be a head coach again somewhere, I'd play for that guy any day of the week. If he ever got with a football team that was established, had decent players -- not that we didn't have decent players, but somewhat more decent players -- he'd be one of the best head coaches in the league." Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune has the story."
I hate you Roy-Boy and after this weekend when the Lions and the Cowgirls are both 2 - 2 i hope you fucking cry after you drop another important pass.

Those were rod's players
He spent 3 years bringing in tampa 2 players, drafting smaller, that entire roster was rod’s team… Williams is a MORON…

Roy Williams commited career suicide asking for the Spot-Light
The man has been a bust in Dallas, and that’s sad.
When you step back and look at what he did in a Lions uniform, and then compare that with his time in Dallas; its mind blowing.
He has all pro talent all around him and yet the only headlines he has made in Dallas has been with his mouth. Not his talent.
Thank you Jerry Jones, thank you for the gift.

Roy was washed up when he left Detroit
And the only people who didn’t realize it were, thankfully, Jerry Jones and Roy Williams himself. As soon as Calvin Johnson was drafted, Roy Williams basically quit. I still thought he could have been a good WR2, but his ego was bigger than the Silverdome and he couldn’t get over himself. None of the other players could breathe because his head was taking up all of the space in whatever building they were in at the time. When he basically said that he wanted out of Detroit, after Megatron was drafted, I lost all respect for him. He is a self righteous, pathetic, washed up loser.

My take on aligator arms Williams
He was tall when in collage playing against infearior talent, but even at his peak he was nothing more than a 3rd stringer, as Jerry Jones’s wallet is finding out. You guys all know how I feal about him, anyone that has the ego to flash that god awful first down arm chop late in the fourth quarter, when your team is down by 28 or more cause you couldn’t get any seperation from your man all day, is a bum!!!!

Mayhew traded Roy to Dallas for 1st, 3rd, and 6th round picks
We ended up getting Pettigrew, Derrick Williams, and Aaron Brown with those picks.
Millen’s last big trade in Feb 2008 was Sean Rogers for Leigh Bodden and a 3rd, who ended up being Cliff Avril.

Still think we should have kept Bodden
It would have been nice to see what he could have done in Schwartz’s D.

I agree with that statement 100%
Bodden would of been a big name for us in the secondary for us this year.

Bodden would've been a stud
Not sure how he’s doing on the Pats now, but he was great in man coverage, not so much in zone.

+1
If not for a horrible flag on him, we would have beat Minny last year.
And if not for “he who should not be named” giving him a huge contract, Bodden would still be here.

Actually....
I’m not sure what was so wrong about what he said. Maybe I’m in the minority here, but he’s just saying that he liked playing for Marinelli. He’s flat out wrong that Marinelli would be the best coach in the league. I think he’s proven that he’s a good position coach, but a horrible head coach. But LOTS of players like their old coaches.
I agree that Roy has turned into a bit of joke. I too, used to really like Roy. I think he’s always thought he was better than he is. I guess when you are drafted at no. 7, you should think that you are capable of being elite. Problem is, he’s never lived up to that. But I think you overdid your hatred against Roy for his pretty harmless words about Marinelli. I think that’s misplaced angst because you weren’t able to take it out on the Lions after a win.

I agree with Drew
I personally dont like Roy, because he SHOULD have been better, but i dont think he was being a dick. We were 0-16, translation, we didnt have a lot of decent players. Hes speaking the truth.

But where is the intestinal fortitude he should have had to stick with his team??
He is a quitter and a ego maniac…..and that’s the truth right there.

Yeah, but the crux of the post...
was that he was sticking up for Marinelli. That’s not very uncommon for players to stick up for old coaches. I agree that he quit and has a huge ego.

I used to like Roy
But like KDawg said, once CJ was drafted he seemed to give up. Probably couldn’t cope with being outclassed by someone younger and more talented than him. I don’t necessarily have a problem with what he said about Rod, although the best head coach part is clearly wrong.

I don't agree with what he said about Rod either....
I’m just saying if he is going to run his mouth and say that “If he ever got with a football team that was established, had decent players — not that we didn’t have decent players, but somewhat more decent players — he’d be one of the best head coaches in the league”, then maybe he should have been man enough to stick around until things did get better. We are a better team now, and if Roy had accepted a secondary role to CJ, how good would our offense be today? If he was willing to do his job and take some of the pressure off of CJ, then not only would he have been productive (if he would catch the ball), but also he might have been part of something bigger…..a WINNING football team. Instead, he whined and complained until the Lions shopped him. They got an offer they could refuse and they said “Bye bye baby”.

The BS Report
IDK if anyone listens to Bill Simmons but he does weekly lines with Cousin Sal who is a Cowboys fan. I loved listening to him complain about Roy Williams’ patented putting of the hand up to signal him being open and sulking back to the huddle. I was laughing the whole time. Mayhew should get a two year free pass for the simple reason of stealing three picks from the ’Boys in that deal. HA!

I love Simmons, have read his articles for years.
Not to mention he has us listed as the “THE FEEL-GOOD STINKER” and #27 on his NFL power poll. Which is much better than most “power” polls I have read.

true about those power rankings
Best I’ve seen is The Godfather, Gil Brandt, has had us 26th for at least 2 of the 3 weeks so far.
