joey galloway ??
the patroits just released joey galloway , doesn't that seem better than some of the options we have right now ??? even for only the rest of the season ...we could surely use the help
from what I seen of the packer game , with all of our injuries and lack of quailty targets , we could use any threat we can get our hands on and he could learn some plays during the bye week and proide some quality depth and experience as well

I say go for it
Especially since from what I’m seeing we didn’t attempt to bring anyone in on a trade. Look for the rest of the year to be what we’re seeing until we get quality corners and DT’s.
I don't know
I don’t see Galloway offering anymore than Northcutt or BJ already give us.
2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).
Another castoff...
we need to stop collecting these types of players. Suffer thru this year and keep the good drafting going.
I don't want an old receiver
who is going to take catches away from Derrick Williams.
Even if Williams has somewhat underwhelmed this year for a third-round pick, he’s still a rookie who needs experience, and I’d rather have him get opportunities this year than sign an old veteran for 10 games.
Also, like HE said, how does he offer more upside than any of our other receivers?
he offers..
veteren presence from a mega-winning team , an example to our rookies …do we have a veteren at this position ?? not really …but he would be a castoff for sure at the end of the year
marc hoople
what mega-winning team?
He’s been with New England for only one offseason and just part of a season where he wasn’t doing anything for them, so they cut him. He was in TB from 04-08, Dallas from 00-03, and Seattle from 95-99. It’s not like he’s Larry Foote, who he spent seven seasons as a leader on a great unit and wants to bring that veteran leadership to Detroit.
I guess I don’t see how a 37 year old guy who happens to have been on the roster of a good team for a few months and was just released, coming in during the season, would make us any better.
If he didn’t contribute, he’d be a waste of a roster spot.
If he did contribute something, he’d be taking snaps and opportunities from our other, younger receivers.
Also, Bryant Johnson is in his 7th year. Dennis Northcutt is in his 10th year. Galloway is in his 15th season. He’s way less likely to be able to make a contribution beyond this season, if that, than our other veteran receivers. I’d rather give reps on our team to guys who can make a difference for us next year and the year after.
I just don’t see a reason to sign him.
Depends if CJ is out for a couple more games...
Galloway is still one of the fastest guys in the league(though I’d time him before signing him)…. Plus, with all the offenses he’s played in, He would be able to adjust quickly. Add in the bye week and you have yourself an instant starter.
I’m not advicating, but I wouldn’t be mad if he signed.
We need to sign someone this week (DT, CB, S, QB… something) as so we can get them in the lineup by St Louis.
I added in QB as Schwartz CAN’T still be ‘comfortable’ with his QB situation.
He is still very fast..which is wild really..
Hes gotta be 35…
Anyway, if we can get him for the minimum, he is better than Standeford as Jazzy said

Very much
He played until he was almost 40, and was the fastest man in the league pretty much until the day he retired. Great CB for the Redskins, HoF’er.
What? He can’t block a dead gopher? Humph, details.
Darrell Green
Played until he was 42 years old, and was STILL one of the fastest men in the NFL when he retired!
Wow
I remember it was around 40. That’s what I get for not looking it up, and shooting from the hip. He was old, he was fast, and he was good. Best of all, he wasn’t a prima donna like Deion Sanders.

Prima Donna or not....
I’d take a shut down cover corner like Deion Sanders right about now……forget the fact that he couldn’t tackle my grandma…..
I'd love someone of Deion's talent in our secondary

I don't see it.
Schwartz seems to like to play and let his rookies develope instead of running out to sign a patch hole player. If it was a big upgrade, like we need in the secondary, than go get him. I am no fan of Standeford but when CJ gets back, he will likely be packing anyway.
