Updates on Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, Blackout Situation
For the second day in a row, Matthew Stafford fully practiced, meaning the chances of him starting on Sunday are looking better and better. The big concern was how his knee would respond after going through a full practice, and considering he has now done that two days in a row, it must have responded well. There's always the chance of a setback as the week goes on, but for now, at least, it seems like his chances of playing are probable.
I'm not so sure what Calvin Johnson's chances of playing are, but I have to think they are questionable at best after he missed practice again on Wednesday. The same goes for Jason Hunter, who also missed practice. Jerome Felton did return, but apparently on a limited basis.
Whether or not we see some of these injured players on Sunday remains to be seen, but it appears that people in the blackout zone won't get to see them even if they do play. There are 10,000 tickets left for Sunday's game, meaning a blackout is basically all but official at this point. The team has until 1 p.m. on Thursday to reach a sellout or at least get close enough to one for the NFL will grant a 24-hour extension. Neither of those things seems likely, so it looks like those of us in the blackout zone will have to go stream hunting on Sunday. Pride of Detroit will still provide live updates, so make sure to check out the site during the game.

Looks like we get....
to watch BOTH wins so far via grainy internet stream 10 min behind the actual game instead of glorious HD…. yay.
Mannit...
If I had enough money, I’d buy everyone a ticket and have a party.

Man.....10,000 seats empty
I wonder if that will make WCF see the err of his ways? I wonder if it will make any difference whatsoever as to the outcome of the season or the future of the team…..forgive the dripping sarcasm.
I forgive the sarcasm, but I don’t forgive you for making me shoot Pepsi out of my nose!
I needed that laugh dude. Thanks
In a way, we already did
The Pontiac Silverdome had a capacity of 80,300.
Ford Field has a football capacity of 65,000.
That’s like removing 15,300 seats. Makes for fewer blackouts.
I don’t think that’s an accident.
What? He can’t block a dead gopher? Humph, details.
No Way!
Anybody can see that it won’t make any difference to WCF, this has been going on for 60 years!
Nostradamas knows, he can predict the future.
It’ll be great to see Stafford back out there. I kinda expect him to look a little rough in his first game back, I hope he keeps the mistakes to a minimum.
If my car wasn’t f*cked up at the moment and I had a way up there, I’d get some cheap seats for this game. I refused to pay a dime for a game when Millen was running things and only went when given free tix. I see improvement now and I may treat myself to another game this season.
if stafford still isn't ready to go, do they start Stanton?
this is something i’ve been wondering, especially with how culpepper has played lately
I Like Pie
I would hope so.....
But I have my doubts…..I would be willing to bet that unless Culpepper is unable to play, he would start if Stafford could not.
Stafford's status is of the good
We also need CJ though, I’m still hopeful of them both playing.
2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).
C'mon Down!
Found tix online yesterday: 35yd line 20 rows up for $30/each.
I was going to wait ‘til Sunday and just buy them downtown, but I couldn’t pass up the price on these ones in case they were closer to a sellout. I would imagine now that they announced 10,000 seats are still available the prices downtown will be near give-away status. As a point of reference, I ended up with extra tix for the Washington game and tried to unload them downtown. Front row of the second level in the endzone and I had a guy tell me I was nuts to ask for $30 for the pair. I ended up getting $30 for them, but the seats stayed empty the whole game so you know the guy who bought them ended up just eating the tickets. Anyway…just a thought for those of you on the fence about going to the game.
Nice!
I’m heading out of town this weekend, but if I wasn’t, I’d be picking up tickets to see the Lions win.
RedZone Channel
If you have the RZC, you can at least get a chance to see the crucial plays throughout the entire game, and see every score…not the actual game, but good enough I suppose (unless blackout games aren’t even shown on there either?).
