Browns Game Officially Blacked Out
As expected, Sunday's game between the Lions and Browns has officially been blacked out. The Lions didn't announce how many tickets are still available, meaning the number probably isn't much different from what we heard yesterday. With around 7,000 unsold tickets and based on the fact that the attendance for the Rams game was just more than 40,000, I wouldn't expect a very big crowd at Ford Field on Sunday.
Like usual, Pride of Detroit will have play-by-play updates in the game threads. If you are in the blackout zone, your most reliable option to track the game outside of checking out POD is by listening to it on the radio, because whether or not there will be streams is always a guessing game. POD will do its best to keep track of ways to watch the game, but there are no promises since it is usually hit or miss.

Just Remember matt... what would Daunte do??
western grad here!
have a bells for me, i can’t find an east coast distributor who can get it.
i live in so cal now...
and bartend for a huge beer house. 130 beers on tap.
Oberon is the MI microbrew I miss the MOST….
UGH!
Looks like I’ll have to pony up some dough and head back downtown. I thought maybe with the Cleveland crowd they might pull this one off…I mean Cleveland is so close it’s practically IN the blackout zone! I guess both fanbases have had enough already.
"Under certain circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer." -Mark Twain
still dont get the point of the blackout
i know the league says its to sell tickets and whatnot, but i still havent figured out that logic. if people dont have money or the team is crap, they wont buy tickets. Threatening to not put a crappy game on TV doesnt motivate any fan to buy a ticket.
maybe its just me, but if u tell me there is no game on tv, im just gonna go online and watch it…thats a whole lot cheaper than actually going to the game
The beginning of the end of the misery
all the cash from tickets and merchandise is put into one big pot and paid to all of the players in the NFL.. this goes for all teams and the ticket prices are set by the nfl for the estimated cost of ALL the players in the nfl.. they have to say each team has to give 50,000 each week for example(and if you cant get them there 50,000 then you get blacked out…that how come sometimes when its not blacked out there is still a **** ton of seats. They don’t care if we don’t sell out.they just want the 50,000)… so we have to have higher ticket cost to make up for people not coming and because we have a smaller field.. that how the cowboys get away with having them cost 20$ because they can fit more then 100,000 people in that thing..
Just Remember matt... what would Daunte do??
I'm not sure,
but I’m fairly sure that this is entirely incorrect. Owners pay their own players. Not the ticket prices in Seattle…
no the nfl has a shared revenue.. ford only makes cash on food/drinks
he MIGHT make some of the all you can eat seats
now coachs i have know clue who pays them would think its still the shared revenue but might not be for them
the staff (concession guys janitors rent a cops ect) i would think ford pays them
Just Remember matt... what would Daunte do??
they do this b/c players/coachs work for ford AND the nfl
the rent a cops and what not only work for ford
so any time you buy a hat, jersey or ticket you are paying some players paycheck.. all so when you pay your cabel that is just so far down the line
you pay the cabel
cabel pays fox
foxs pays nfl
nfl pays players coaches
Just Remember matt... what would Daunte do??
by time it get to them you only give like 2 cents but still are lol
Just Remember matt... what would Daunte do??
You could not be more wrong
http://football.calsci.com/SalaryCap.html
The fl does not pay the players or the coaches. You’ve lost your mind.
it says they shar it in there...i was just rong on how much they got from tv..
but that in of its self explans why the black out is there even more
Just Remember matt... what would Daunte do??
No offense
But is it really that hard to spell correctly or form coherent thoughts?

so this is on cbs so how will the black out work??
I was under the impression that the games on cbs where nation wide
Just Remember matt... what would Daunte do??
Seriously?
CBS typically has AFC games and carries them the same way as FOX. Only the Thanksgiving game is national for us.

whos suprised
neither of these teams can sell seats alone the only good sell we had was when everyone went to see the steelers in detroit. I dunno if I will black out if we lose I mean St louis did beat us we should win ( words of poision) in detroit I live by grandrapids so the blackout won’t effect me but I do think its sad the lions have alot of work to do to rebuild the fan base the economy only makes it worst. I haven’t had this much faith in a head coach sense muchcci was in town…and schwarts has no millen to deal with..Whom by the way is calling thursday night football on nfl net and if det ever got a game with him he may be thrown threw the booth to fall to his demise
