Am I just trying to find a silver lining or.....
Maybe someone else mentioned this, but the way the injuries are piling up, it reminds me of how some other teams have made incredible turn arounds following bad years.
The formula...
1) Good year drafting
2) Young QB who is learning on the job
3) Injuries pile up so your record is much worse thant it needed to be...
Then,
Because of the youth of the team and injuries you get another good draft position, do well with it and end up with 7-10 good Young pieces.
Seriously, without the injuries we would of probably ended the season with 4-5 wins, with them, we will probably only have 2. The injuries make us seem worse than we are and Kevin, Matt, Calvin ect are only going to get better.
Am I crazy for looking at it this way?

Well, unless we make the playoffs we cant go 7-10
And thats if a team could go 7-9 and get in. But im joking, i know its a typo.
I had this team capped at 4 wins, injuries drop us to 2-3. Hoping it’s not 1. This is a rebuilding year, and I am confident in the “new” building blocks that have been added. The powers that be seem to have the right schematic, so its all positive. (except St. Louis)
I find myself watching more college football right now, because I know we will have a high pick. Just hope we keep moving in the right direction.
It’s funny on 97.1 thursday or friday they were discussing moving Calvin for high draft picks, and this guy called in and said why trade him if the Lions cant pick talented players. The radio personality asked him why he was a fan. He said if you have NO hope that this team can not get any better why root for them? If you think this team can never win you need to find a “new” team to root for. Being a fan is having Hope.
Go Lions!!!!

He said we'd have...
…“7-10 good, young pieces.” Not that we would be 7-10.
Good post though. It sure is silver lining, but we all look for it.

That is a positive way to look at it CL
That’s how I have been rationalizing this year. Hopefully, Schwartz and his coaches will have a better idea of where they stand with their roster and will be in a good position to do something about it through the draft and in waivers.

At least
we can still find positives in what were doing. Take a look at what the browns fans are saying and it should really cheer you up.

when the turnaround happens
it will happen fast. next year may be only marginally better for the same formula. but there will be a day where quite literally this team explodes from all the young talent & depth. we are literally only a year or two away i believe.

provided there is another productive off season, as productive or better, like we did the past year
