Watch Out for Zack Follett

A quick note to returners who play the Lions in the future: keep your head on a swivel and make sure you keep an eye on where Zack Follett is at all times.  If you don't, this could happen:

Follett's hit was one of this week's Sprint Can't-Miss Plays, and it has led to the discovery of this hilarious picture from 97.1 The Ticket:

There's actually an entire page dedicated to Follett on Karsch and Anderson's section of the website, and it is definitely worth checking out.  As we quickly found out after he was drafted by the Lions, Follett is something else.

This is kind of a repost from another thread, but did anyone else make this association from the Zach Follett picture?

It was the first thing I thought of

Now, picture piles & piles of punt returners in the background :-)

Haha

This picture is hillarious. I bet if someone spent a little bit more time on it (notice the tiny bit of blue and the shadow to the left) it woud be perfecto!

LMAO!

That is awesome n4ry4…..

The hit was even better though…..when was the last time we had a guy who hits that hard?

Yeah, that was awesome

That there was a hit and a half.

2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).

The one bright spot on special teams.

Hope it starts to rub off on some of the defensive players.

Follet

Zack Follet is one of those guys I was real impressed with coming out of college, for all those MSU fans you saw him absolutely shut down Javon RInger, and he was on Hoyer the whole game…………………….I was really happy to see him come to the Lions.

HAHAHA

“The hit didn’t hurt, but my mind wasn’t working”

Does that mean the hit did hurt and the synapses of his BLASTED BRAIN, just couldn’t relay the message?

"i walked off the field...i think"

haha…can’t even remember if he walked away…it didn’t hurt cause you were knocked the f%ck out!!!!!!!

When asked by the media.....

“Who is the one person you are most happy to see leave for the NFL”, a large number of remaining PAC 10 players said “Zack Follet”. And that in itself is awesome!

Do you have a link?

I’d love to read more on that poll

by n4ry4 on Nov 4, 2009 2:20 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

It might have even been on ESPN......

I don’t remember where I saw it or read it…..but I’m not making it up! :o)

No, it sounds believable (just from watching Follett hit), I just like hearing stuff like this

especially after last year’s soft defense that didn’t seem to want to hit anybody too rough.

That hit was #6 on NFLnetworks top 10 plays of the week

by JazzyBBP on Nov 4, 2009 5:58 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

he needs to get in the lb rotation

there is some run defense…i would have loved to have seen him in there in the third/fourth quarter squaring off vs sjack…that would be a crunch and a half

by londonlion on Nov 4, 2009 9:50 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Follett plays with reckless abandon.....

And maybe he is just a bit too reckless to play LB for now…..but I have faith that he will learn.

by KDawg on Nov 5, 2009 5:31 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

just send him on the blitz every down

LOL! i bet he wins as many as he loses…but those behind the line wins would be awesome! at least he wouldn’t be intimidated laying the lumber on a guy like sjack

by londonlion on Nov 6, 2009 9:21 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Sure

Play him in a situational role when it doesn’t matter if he over pursues…..I could see that.

by KDawg on Nov 6, 2009 7:19 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

just send him with the front four...

let the others read & react to where the play goes and chase it down…he is good downhill…attacking…or turn him into an end…tremendously undersized…but got the killer instinct…i see ball…

Who did Zack Follet say was his biggest inspiration?

Click the link. Check the 2nd video for the answer. If that don’t get you fired up (and make you laugh at the same time), nothing will.

What? He can’t block a dead gopher? Humph, details.
