Im a sad, sad, Lions fan

Hey guys, ive been thinking lately (which is dangerous in itself) and that loss last Sunday really, really felt like a punch to the gut.  Although the Lions were 1-5, i thought they were a better team than the garbage that has been lining up over the past few years.  I was watching the game with a few friends, none of whom were Lions fans, and they were shocked by how upset i was, this really was the conversation right after the game.

Friend 1: "B, why are you so upset ?"

Me: "We just lost to the FUCKING Rams !!"

Friend 2: "Yeah well they played the FUCKING Lions !"

Me: "get out of my house !"

Im hurting as a fan, i NEED this team to get better, it sucks soooooo much to be constantly ridiculed about my Lions, i havent posted anything on POD this week because im so bummed out.  When are things gonna change ? How many top picks are we gonna have to go through before we are able to have a 7 win season ? I dont care about the playoffs at this moment, i just want this team to win more than 5 games.  Im not going anywhere, im a Lions fan until i die but shit, how many more years of this crap are we gonna have to go through before there is a little payoff ?

i like Schwartz, i like Stafford, and there are definitely things that yo can be optimistic about but when Calvin becomes a free agent and the Cowboys, or Patriots, or any playoff team come calling, is he really gonna come back to us ? and do we have the right to be upset if he leaves ?

Please talk me off the ledge...

Franchise Tag

We can always keep CJ with a franchise tag…….at least theres that…….

But really, things are headed in the right direction. The biggest issue that everyone knew about going into this season is a severe lack of depth. We lose one good player for a game and there just isn’t a replacement worth a damn. Thats a major detriment. This was not an NFL team last year. I can count on 1 hand all the players we had last year that were legit NFL starters. Hell some are barely backups. This isn’t gonna be a quick fix. Its gonna be hard to watch for a couple years.

well, im in it for the long haul.....

It’s just that we shouldnt lose to the Rams, we should compete against Seattle and we BETTER beat the Browns on the 22nd.

we should

LOSE the rest of the games so that way we get a great draft pick. We aren’t gonna make the playoffs, so why not just go 1-15?

we don't want an early first round pick again this year

WAY too much money invested in these high first round draft picks……if anything we want to be outside of that top 5 as much as we can so we don’t have to break the bank and can use some of that extra cash to bring in some decent free agent help

We'll probably be waiting for a while

But the wait is half the fun…(or so I’m told).

I agree Bosco

If I were Megatron I would split ASAP – I hope he doesn’t but what does Detroit offer a superstar??? I would be upset HUGE but I would understand.

CJ is in his 3rd year of a 6 year contract

after that we can franchise him two times, so if it makes anybody feel better we could have him another 5 years after this one. Plenty of time to give him reasons to resign with us, but I agree we better improve in the win section.

I'm very frustrated too

I’m in the same boat with you Bosco – while I’m never happy with a loss, this last loss to the Rams last week REALLY bothered me, much longer than most of our other losses did. I was in a pretty bad mood about it a lot longer than I usually am……I guess it was just reality hitting us all in the face and it’s hard to swallow, but it is what it is. Just know that we all are in the same boat w/ you
