I do think this would be a good move, too. He’s young, it would add depth at an injury-plagued position, it would almost be like picking up a draft pick. I’m not saying he’s THE answer to fixing the Lions secondary, but it definitely couldn’t hurt. Bring him in, lets see what hes got, maybe he can be a piece to the puzzle.

So he must have some value. I just remember him being very good in college.

The waiver system is only used for players that have less than 4 years experience in the NFL (like Jack Williams). A player with 4 years of experience, who is released, automatically becomes a free agent. I am not sure if it resets every week after that, but I assume it does.
