More Proof of Millen's Incompetence [or Why we are where we are]

In my yearly fall ritual of projecting who the Lions will draft in the spring I was doing a bit of research on the 2003 draft on Walterfootball.com and ran across this gem regarding Charles Rogers:

Charles Rogers could fall from this slot, because he tested positive for a urine dilution test. However, no one knows whether its a drug like marijuana, a supplement, or simply too much water. The Lions say they still believe in WR Charles Rogers, who visited the team on Monday. If it becomes apparent that Rogers did take a supplement, the Lions may trade with Baltimore and take Rogers, but for now, I'll have the Lions take him at #2. Stay tuned. The Lions need a playmaker on offense to go with Joey Harrington, and Charles Rogers is the best offensive player in this draft.

I never realized that there was some evidence before the draft of Rogers' drug use. And to think that Andre Johnson was picked at the #3 spot, just behind Charles the Wasted.

Here is the Link for that Mock Draft: http://www.walterfootball.com/draft2003.php

Also, whenever anybody complains about the Lions drafting squeaky clean players, please remember Charles and Reggie [Rd 1, #7 of 1987] Rogers and their non-careers with the Lions.

I cant say or type Mill...

I like to refer him to “He who shall not be named” or HWSNBN. Cant bring myself to it. I’m glad im not a Michigan fan or I would have had to endure his “great” broadcasting and player evaluation skills.

His drafting record is.. there isnt a word for it. The League should grant our new GM conditional picks just to help the franchise rebuild. I mean, the evidence is there. We clearly are playing with a severe handicap. People have been so negative this year, you just need to realize how under talented this team is. This is going to be a process guys, next year look for us to win 4-5 games at the most. I said 3 after the draft last year, and got killed for it. And we might not even reach that number. The weird thing is a have recieved more shit this year, than last year. Go figure.

word...

Coaching has improved, but the potential of this team has been reached.

Good news is, another offseason/draft like last year and this team should start showing some consistancy.

Boom.....

…..thats exactly right…..We need to draft talent and not needs…..Sure we need lineman but we need talent……The NFL is a talent driven league….Weve got little……I stil think we should go with the best oline or dline whne we pick but we shall see……This staff showed last year with mr mayhew that they can draft.

LL is was with you on the 2009 results. I thought three wins was reasonable.

I thought if we went with Staff from day one, he might surprise us and do a Ryan/Flacco by leading us to six wins or so. That was wishful thinking. I have to admit that I have been disappointed in the performance of the O line and the pass defence. I did not realize it was this bad. The high number of injuries has not made it easier either.

Good teams can move past injuries because of

Depth.

With a lack of talent roster wide, depth is a luxury we do not have.

UGH...

bad memories….. I don’t even want to think about this wasted pick when we could have gone defensive and another direction….. He got paid and screwed all of the Lions staff and fans

GO LIONS in 2010! the transformation starts now.. they have much to do.
