Kevin Smith officially done for season, will have surgery
Kevin Smith will have season-ending surgery on his injured knee to repair at least one ligament. There could be damage to more than one ligament, but we won't know anything further until the surgery is done.

Like I said before...
…what a shame. If he can come all the way back, I still think he is the answer at running back. Unfortunately, the Lions must prepare in the event that he can’t be ready by the start of next season. I smell a Kevin Jones redux. I hope not, though.
doubt they are getting KJ back
Jones hated Detroit for releasing him
The beginning of the end of the misery
Not what I meant....
I meant that I sense that Kevin Smith might be turning into a Kevin Jones…. you know, all the potential and looking like the answer, then injury after injury happens. Jones was always “this close” to being a great back, but it never materialized.
Time to shine
For Aaron Brown. Let’s hope he’s ready for more production!

the Lions need tailbacks with less common names
Oh, and can we have some that are less prone to catastrophic injury, too?
Sucks for K Smith, he was quietly having a solid campaign, even if the stats didn’t show it, always.

Smith was turning the corner
in his sophomore season. He was getting the hang of things and looked to be a very productive back for the foreseeable future. I just hope the injury isn’t as bad as it could be and he’s back for 2010.

bummer
get better.. we’ll see how the Lions go through the draft… if it’s bad then we may see one drafted… if not we may be able to keep what we have….. 3 games to prove if you belong to the Lions!!!!
GO LIONS in 2010! the transformation starts now.. they have much to do.
We need you K-Smooth
Come back soon!
2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).

It’s a shame Kevin Smith is going to have to have surgery for his ACL, he’s been the most consistent offensive producer for the Lions and has shown he can be a threat in the passing game. He never seems to quit on a play as well. I am worried that this will turn into a Kevin Jones situation, as prior posts have mentioned. We cannot afford to have him miss time next year. That would be a shame…
