Should the Lions go after this guy a GUARD (a gift?)

Rams release Richie Incognito Posted by Michael David Smith on December 15, 2009 3:25 PM ET The St. Louis Rams have released guard Richie Incognito, two days after he received a pair of personal fouls and got into a verbal confrontation with coach Steve Spagnuolo on the sideline during the Rams' loss to the Tennessee Titans.

"As with all other personnel moves, this is what we felt was in the best interest of the team at this time," Spagnuolo said in a statement released by the team. "We appreciate Richie's efforts and we wish him the very best."

Incognito twice head butted Titans players during Sunday's game, the latest in a long line of incidents in which Incognito failed to control his temper.

Incognito has spent his entire five-year career with the Rams. St. Louis drafted him in the third round of the 2005 NFL draft.

What do you think?..... The guy is intense ..  with his temper... do we need that on the Lions?  Of course, direct it towards the other team!!!!!!   I say hell yeah... why not... instant help and a stop GAP asap...  It could effect our draft strategy where the focus on DEFENSE would be intense for the 2010 draft????

He's got an attitude problem...

Which probably would not get fixed by a team like the Lions.

Fresh start

could he be tamed?… he’s 26 year old… his stats are not much but with new surroundings even the Lions… could it work?

GO LIONS in 2010! the transformation starts now.. they have much to do.

The description looks great but the stats and he needs to be tamed!!!!

Richie Incognito
ex St. Louis Rams #68 – Guard

Born: 1983/07/05 Age: 26

Height: 6-3 Weight: 330

“Scouting Report…

An excellent pure specimen. Very athletic lineman. Has the feet and strength to move the pile. Has great hand placement and punch and really jars defenders. Moves well in pass protection and plays with good bend and leverage.

Flaws Has character issues. Injury-prone. He’s not easily coachable. Will sometime quit on plays. Doesn’t use his physical tools enough.

Career Potential Good starter. "

I don’t think we could tame him.

This guy has Shawn Rogers all over him.

Takes plays off. Doesn’t use his physical skills. I guess if the coachs feel they can coach him but I don’t know how they would know unless they get some clues from talking to him.

YES!!!

put this mean nasty fatfucker next to Backus and the left side of the OL will become a strength

by JazzyBBP on Dec 15, 2009 5:52 PM EST reply actions

Not worth it....

……anyone that takes plays off wont make any team better.

temp fill in till 2011 draft?

been researching him….yeah ..his history is not good attitude-wise… he’s tempting because he may play better than what we got??? (even if he takes plays off) Coach does like a mean streaked player? if he could straighten up his attitude and play… he could be a steal…. I’m dreaming…. but he could be worth keeping for one year till the 2011 draft

I'd take him

If only to fill in for the rest of the season. Sign him for one year and sit him on the bench if we have to. Our guard situation is fucking atrocious.

Mike Gandy’s little brother

Trust me, Incognito is not going to hurt anything at all. If he sucks, if he has an attitude problem, cut him. Simple as that.

EDIT

Wayne Gandy, not Mike Gandy.

DOUBLE EDIT

Totally wrong. Disregard me. I got stoned for the first time in weeks. LITERALLY WEEKS.
