I've notice a few new people posting here...

And all I can say is I Love It. You'll notice that this is a great community. That's right, we are a COMMUNITY of LIONS FANS. And after what happened yesterday.

My best advice to all the new posters, is to introduce yourself a little bit. We are all friends here. I did a post in the beginning of the season to say, Hey this is me, this is kinda who I am, and this is what I'm about. If Sean wants to bring that back up then great. Otherwise it's kinda on you. Find it, it's in the archives.

But I guarantee that if you read through that post, you'll realize we are all on the same TEAM. And I'm Proud to have some extraordinary TEAMMATES!!!

GO LIONS!!!! COMMENT AWAY!!!!

Ok here is the link, It's on my Profile so I figured it would be easier this way.

Let’s wait a few years until the Lions win a playoff game.

I was at the game when the Lions.....

…..Beat the Cowboys…..That playoff game was so loud……people were pissing in the sinks in the mes room….So many people

You mean you're not supposed to...

….piss in the sinks? The Silverdome was such a dump I’m suprised they didn’t just have holes cut in the seats. That place did get rockin sometimes though!

I thought you were referring to the Silverdome’s sink-like pissing apparati

At least I think that was the Silverdome.

LMFAO

The hores trough sounds so much worse than horse trough.

But I’m glad I recalled correctly. That was a marvel in modern shamelessness…

“Let me just show the entire bathroom my dick while I piss into this giant basin that those other 3 drunks are pissing into!”

Great to do while listening to this.

Holy god… In looking for a link to a Gridiron Heroes video… I found this… and nearly died.

Yeah, that was terrifying

I love Youtube, but sometimes it leads you into some dark corners of the internet.

I’m assuming that guy had been strung out on meth for several days, and after listening to far too much Alice in Chains and Johnny Cash decided to write a fight song, you know, since we were 6-2 at that point.

Best line: “Stayin up all night, watching films by the moon – Practicin all day, gettin ready for the Sunday afternoooooon”!

Also: “We’re the Lions, and we no longer run with the pack.”
As though Lions run in packs to begin with. They’re not fucking wolves

by Nate D. on Dec 16, 2009 2:19 PM EST up reply actions

LOL

I love your line about being strung out on meth!!! That’s exactly what it reminded me of too!!! Too funny.

“The Lions are loooong in the toooooooth”

Freakin’ weird as hell.

The guys who aren't here today aren't real football guys

They might be “fans”, but they aren’t football guys. So, my question would be “do we really want them here?”.

Football guys have football churning in their belly whether times are good or bad. Most of us watch the NFL network 365 days a year…pre-draft, draft, OTA’s, training camp, pre-season, and the season. We debate every move when our team is 2-11, and secretly hope that somehow our comments will get through to the Lion’s management. We are like unpaid GM’s, right?

I love it here, and look forward to logging in every day to see both the good and the bad…the boneheads who say to trade the franchise (the debate is healthy and appreciated) and the player analysis, mock drafts, and all of it.

You guys are alot of fun…even the boneheads! I just hope that only the “football guys” find us here, but all of you veterans have a nice way of brooming the idiots out of here as fast as they got here.

Thanks to Sean and everyone at Pride of Detroit that makes this site a great place to be!

things get “Real Fun” right before the Draft…

by j16941 on Dec 18, 2009 1:46 AM EST up reply actions

Loyal till death!

I watch the waiver wire all the time to see if the Lions can improve beside the draft……

Witherspoon could be a big pick up, 3 games to go… more house cleaning coming up in the off season after the draft…. we are better than last year but we still have so much further to go… 96-3 if we had last years roster… i can’t believe our pass D is worse than last year… I can’t wait to correct it in the offseason… I CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lions forever…they will get better… till then… hang in there real Lions fans!!!

GO LIONS in 2010! the transformation starts now.. they have much to do.

First Post

Hey guys, I have been checking out the site everyday for the past two years and I figured this is a good time to actually join in on the fun. I’m a 27 year old lions addict. I have been a season ticket holder along with my dad and brother for two years now and am very encouraged about what direction this team is headed. I was raised on Detroit sports and have always been a fan of all four teams no matter how bad they are. I take crap every monday at work about being a fan, but i don’t care…its only a matter of time until I’m the one dishing it out about being bandwagon fans.

I love reading the posts here becasue it is obvious that everyone in this community are real fans. I live for Lions football and I will take my dad to see the Lions in a superbowl in his lifetime, no matter what the cost!

I’m excited to join in on all the conversations….keep up the good work everyone, its a great site!

by SLH on Dec 16, 2009 2:04 PM EST reply actions

Welcome

Don’t be afraid to post here, ask questions, whatever. People might get on your case from time to time but that’s how we do. As long as you tenaciously defend your points of view and never say you’re wrong you’ll fit in. At least with myself, KDawg and Drew.

:P

Anyways… Keep the faith. See you at the draft lol

LOL

Thanks Nate…..:o)

Welcome SLH

I echo Nate’s comments. Welcome aboard – feel free to join in the conversations. If you’re a Lions addict then you’ve come to the right place. Opinions can be hotly debated and fights do occasionally break out – Sean normally squashes them pretty quick.

I’ve been here 2 years and found some die-hard Lions fans, like me, so you should fit right it.

PS – this is easy but what is the name of the Lions mascot???

I have to prove myself? :)

Roary…and I didn’t have to look it up!
I am sitting at work (I have a ton of work to do) blogging about one of the worst football teams in the history of the NFL…you have to question my loyalty?

P.S. – I realize you guys are kidding.

by SLH on Dec 16, 2009 2:31 PM EST up reply actions

HAHA

Roary is correct!! WELCOME to POD!!! JK

Speaking of Roary do you remember in our lone playoff win in 1991 against the Cowboys someone (I forgot who) ran over Roary after a TD. It was hilarious!!!

I’m at work too – Wall St in NYC. Investment banker yet all I do is think about the Lions every day. How sad are we???

If it was a Lion.....

It had to be either Willie Green or Herman Moore…..Barry scored in that game too, but I do not recall him ever plowing over the Mascot…..lol. In fact, I am almost certain it was Willie Green on a 31 yard strike from Erik Kramer. Barry’s score was a 47 yard scamper late in the game. :o)

Welcome to the Pride

It’s actually amazing how many people spend at least a year reading before speaking up…hell, I even did it, and that was over 2 years ago.

More Proof I'm a Real Fan...

I went to the silverdome to watch us lose 41-10 in the NFC championship game on the big screen that year…I was 9 years old at the time.

Newbie

Obviously I’m new…I don’t know if there is a way to move that post so it shows as a reply to NYCLionsfan???

by SLH on Dec 16, 2009 3:10 PM EST up reply actions

If you want to post to an existing string just hit "reply"

I think about that game to this day. Erik Kramer getting sacked and fumbling on the first play of the game (maybe 2nd play) by Charles Mann and the rout was on. That was my saddest day as a Lions fan.

Part-time Lions supporter

I’m a Vikings fan who has a lot of respect for the Lions and your traditions and football heritage.

The Lions have just got to break out of that current rut. The city of Detroit and the state of Michigan, too. I think you can do it. I know you can. From a football perspective, you’ve got good leadership now in Jim Schwartz. The young Matthew Stafford just needs support around him, especially a good offensive line.

I have posted here sometimes to try to support the rebuild of the Lions.

I wish the Lions well, except of course when you play the Vikings. I think you guys will be competitive again in two years. It will take longer to get to contender status. Good luck. Keep supporting Jim Schwartz. If he weren’t with the Lions, he would be a head coach somewhere else in the NFL. He’s very good.

Go Lions! Beat the Cardinals!
