Which Free Agent list and Draft class are best together
Free agents Option 1:
Larry Foote,LB.- Has been one bright side to our terrible defense.
Reggie Bush,RB.-Was a need before KSmiths injury, but now.....its a MUST. Brings a side of the game the Lions havent had since Barry Sanders, a Homerun hitter. Can run, receive, and return.
Jason Avant,WR.-A second receiver is needed almost more than anything else on this team.
Sinorice Moss, WR - need players that can CATCH the ball and scare defenses
Max Jean-Giles,OG - Protection for Stafford is a must.
Casey Hampton,DT.-HUGE MAN, can clog up that line. Normally a 3-4 NT, but i think would benefit in a 4-3.
Kyle Vanden Bosch,DE.- Ex-Schwartz defender. Will fit in well back in his old style defense.
Ryan Clark,S. - Big hitting, reliable, experienced safety who could be a good 1-2 combo with Delmas that would terrify WR going over the middle or deep.
Nick Harper,CB.- Could be for depth.Has fallen off, but is a old schwartz guy and has slot of experience. Something this young team needs.
Richard Marshall,CB. - Solid CB, and much need player for depth and possible starter.
Free agents Option 2:
Larry Foote,LB - its a given
Willie Parker,RB. - Fast Willie could make a splash in place of KSmith, is gonna look for a place to start and Detroit is a great destination for him.
Braylon Edwards,WR. - Would be a big investment, but would really make defenses respect the passing game.
Derrick Mason, WR - Detroit boy, might wanna play one season in his hometown with the team he grew up rooting for.
David Baas, OG - we need some big boys to protect Stafford if we want him to play for more than 5 seasons, Baas is one of them.
Ryan Pickett,DT - Big body to clog up the front line, maybe stop Ray Rice if we ever saw him again.
Brett Keisel or Will Smith, DE - Which ever of these two are available, i think the Lions should take a run at. Keisel is a 3-4 DE but could flourish in a 4-3, and Will Smith is a Pro Bowler as long as hes not suspended
William Gay, CB - Solid nickel or step in starting CB.
Marlon Jackson, CB - Colts may let him go after their young CBs are playing like pro bowlers, would be a great Great pick up
Dawan Landry, SS - Has been a great safety for one of the best defenses in the Ravens
Draft Option 1:
1st - Gerald McCoy,DT,Oklahoma. : Playmaking, Fast, Big, Strong, Mean Defensive Tackle
2nd - Carlos Dunlap,DE,Florida : Got a DUI and has fallen to the 2nd round! thank you Florida State Police. Could be the biggest steal in this years draft.
3rd - Trevard Lindley,CB,Kentucky : A solid corner, who over time could become a starter
Draft Option 2:
1st - Eric Berry, S, Tennessee : called the best player in the draft by many sites including ESPN. Would be a great combo with Delmas. Could also play corner at first.
2nd - Brandon Ghee, CB, Wake Forest : Secondary is that bad that 2 players are needed right away.
3rd - Marvin Austin, DT, North Carolina - DT is one of the top needs this year.
Draft Option 3:
Trade our 1st, 5th and Ernie Sims to San Fransisco for their 2 1st's this year.
1a - Joe Haden, CB, Florida - An Elite cornerback who could start from day one
1b - Taylor Mays, S, USC - Big hitting, freak of an athlete who many, including me, wanted to take last year with a top 5 pick.
2nd - Brandon Graham, DE, Michigan - A freak lineman, a nose for the QB and led the nation in tackles for loss
3rd - Boo Robinson, DT, Boston College - Big bodied DT, would be a great depth player in the first year.

GO LIONS in 2010! the transformation starts now.. they have much to do.
I don't like either of the FA options.
Draft 1 is ok but a little “Pie in the sky”

Vote NO?....
where was that option. I did not like the FA option. Draft 1 was good. I just dont see it happening.
if the shoe fits...get another one just like it - George Carlin
Either way...
through free agency or draft picks thats alot of money to sign for those players. Would we even have the cap space?

I do not disagree with ALL of this but the following i do:
Braylon Edwards,WR. – Would be a big investment, but would really make defenses respect the passing game. IS A BUM, he was for cleveland and still is for the jets, all he will do is cry that calvin gets more looks.
Derrick Mason, WR – Detroit boy, might wanna play one season in his hometown with the team he grew up rooting for. He was retiring if balt didnt beg him back, no way he would go from almost retiring to struggling in detroit.
Reggie Bush,RB. WE ARE NOT MADE OF MONEY, and he will cost a lot if the saints do not resign him, his upside is easily replaceable in the draft.
Wouldn't touch Edwards with a 10 foot pole.
Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain. Lily Tomlin
I'd probably mix up a few of the options
FA List: Parker, Foote, Hampton, Smith, Jackson, Landry….that is a lot, doubt we get any of them actually.
2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).
Zack Follett: he will hurt your mind.
