Maurice Williams comes home...
The Detroit Lions picked up Maurice Willaims off waivers today. And release Salaam. This is a very good move. Williams was injured in the Jags opener. With a ruptured right bicep. Then lost his spot to 2nd round pick Eben Britton. Williams, a Detroit native. And former U of M star. Maurice could be a big addition to the Lions under achieving line. I think that he could play right tackle. But more likely he was brought in to play a guard.

Throw him on the ex-wolverine pile over there
Those pelts are looking a little gamey.
What? He can’t block a dead gopher? Humph, details.
LOL The Sparties are feeling up now that they are going to a bowl and Michigan is not.
Funny, The Wolverines were always known for their excellent linemen. Apparently that too has passed.
haha
I’m just poking a little fun. It’s all in good spirit. Us Spartans have to take what we can get when it comes to football. Not very often do we get the chance to bash Michigan and actually have the stuff to back it up.
Don't worry man I am fine with this.
Being a Canuck I cheer for all Michigan teams. I don’t really get the rivalry between the two schools. Sometimes it looks like the fans of one school are happier when the other school is cratering, rather than if their team is doing well.
Lol
I’d say MSU fans take just as much joy in seeing Michigan struggle as they do in seeing MSU do well. Of course, it’s been the same way for Michigan fans since we haven’t had anything to cheer about.

and i find it hard to belive he could play LT LG RG RT or he would have been picked up by now

He was just released....
Jags spent a 1st and a 2nd round on their tackle position this past draft. So Williams was expendable.
if the shoe fits...get another one just like it - George Carlin
I'm down with the pickup...
Good late season addition for depth at a spot where we need competition, O-Line. Might take a little adjustment time to switch him to G though.
He played mostly Guard the last few years for Jacksonville.
Although he was drafted and has played as a Right Tackle.
I asked the Jags fans on their SB site about Maurice Williams.

He did a good job for them over the years but he has been injured the last couple of seasons.
This guy wont be a star and probably wont start....
……but is good fordepth for sure over Salaam.

Who the hell is this dude CLF?
I hope this is not some kind of political commentary or you will catch some flak.
That is Kevin Rudd
Prime Minister of Australia.
How strange it is to see him here….

I think Obama bought some from him...
As we speak, he is planting them in the health care reform garden behind the White House. They’ll grow simply because of the amount of bullsh*t they are being planted in!
Maybe...

Thanks Jags!
A great Christmas gift for the Lions… I’m NOT surprised that Mayhew jumped on this guy as soon as it was announced. A huge addition for the OL of the Lions… If he wants to be here, then he could be the guy we’ve always wanted. Him paired with a future draft pick with talent and healthly players has just filled a HUGE hole in the OL… Great move. I hope the results are instant! We’ll see Sunday. He could be here for a long time. he’s young and a solid player!
GO LIONS in 2010! the transformation starts now.. they have much to do.
