Lions Sign Maurice Morris
Adam Schefter of the NFL Network is reporting that the Lions have signed running back Maurice Morris to a three-year deal worth close to $7 million. Morris previously played for the Seahawks and will likely be Kevin Smith's backup in Detroit.
I'll have more on this at a later time.

Uh oh...
…does this mean we have nothing left for Ward? Maurice Morris is a really good running back, but I don’t see how he is an upgrade over Rudi Johnson.
I'll let you know in the next story
There is an update about Ward.

Good Sign
Im in full agreement that this is a good hire. I mean he had to fight for his spot last year because they signed julius jones and tj duckett. He’s a fighter and thats what we are trying to do run the ball and stop the run. I agree talently wise he may not be as talented as Rudi but he’s a fighter and thats what i think we wanted. Rudi is a finesse back and avoids tackles with going towards the sidelines while Morris meets head on. Its a start you know

Well...
…GET TO IT YUILLE. PFT Sucks today which leaves you as our only good source of news….besides, no one else cares about the Lions.
Good job today by the way.
Good Hire
He can play special teams and at times has been a return man. I have full-confidence with this pickup. Competition makes all parties stronger in the end. All we need now is some talent to compete! Good Move Schwartz N Co.
Better
Better than mlive for once, lol. Killer doesnt know things right away because aparently he doesnt know about morris yet or hasnt reported but i hope we get washington, alot younger than hosyourmama even though he has more consistency

???
Why so positive on this move? This guy has sucked every time he has gotten the opportunity to play.
What are you talking about?
He’s no Barry Sanders, but he is a solid posession back. Heis along the line of Sammy Morris in NE. It’s not like they guaranteed the guy $8 million…jeez.
Also Lolid On Special Teams....
….And has returned kicks. Great Great signing. Good Job Mayhew!!!

Jabar Gaffney
was a free agent? I didn’t know that. I don’t think Detroit has a chance with him, he just signed with Denver and that is where was probablly going to land all along. He would have been a good target as well instead of maybe Washington.
Morris & Smith....
Could be a real good 1-2 punch.
Whether it be this year, next year, or 50 years from now. The Detroit Lions will eventually win a Super Bowl............I f'n hope.
Good signing
It means there are no threats to Kevin Smith’s status as starter, but we now have a solid number back that will embrace the role. He WILL make a difference on this team. Good, solid pick-up.
Seahawks fan here.
You’re getting a solid runner that a few in Seattle thought might have a chance to start this year. The likelihood of Julius Jones getting cut seems slimmer now.
You’ll like Mo. He’s a one-cut rusher who will sometimes make the wrong decision, but is fast enough to get into the second level for good gains. As was stated over on www.fieldgulls.com, the Seahawks SBN blog, he’s a young 29, being that he’s been a back up his whole career. I’m assuming your line isn’t that great based on last year’s results, but all five of Seattle’s projected starting linemen missed time last year, including all five at once in the last two games of the year, and he still performed well. Probably his biggest asset is his pass-catching ability. He’s a great receiving back who can create something out of what normally would be just a dump-off. He’s not a star, but he’ll give you ~4 yards per carry and be a threat that other teams can’t just ignore in the receiving game. Nice low-risk, medium-reward pickup. I’ll miss Mo…he was always a fan favorite because of how hard he played…treat him well, Detroit.

A blog-thingy about the Mariners and stuff.
Thanks
Our line could be improved by the time he hits the field though, I hope he works out well for us
