Lions Trade Jon Kitna to Cowboys?

PrintNational Football Post is reporting that the Lions have traded quarterback Jon Kitna to the Dallas Cowboys for what is currently being called "late picks." I would be shocked if they got anything more than a sixth- or seventh-round pick for Kitna, but maybe Martin Mayhew just has a way of pulling off amazing deals with the Cowboys. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough, but one way or another, Kitna will be off the roster by March 3, the date when his roster bonus is due. It doesn't make sense for a team to trade for him when he is going to be released in a few days, but again, this is the Cowboys we're talking about.
More as it comes out.

That would have been a blockbuster move!
But until they start actually closing these deals… all they are is close… and this ain’t horseshoes. The need to start making some of these great ideas become reality. Such is the life of a Lion’s fan… it’s always “what could have been”.

are a little angry lol, I guess he was supposed to be moved to safety. Well looks like we got the better of the deal.

we’ve been getting over on them on all the deals lol.

I don’t think we gave up any picks. I thought it was Kitna for Henry and a late round pick or two from them. But maybe we gave a pick too.

right. He was pretty solid in Dallas. He was a backup for a little bit but he can start for sure. He started in Dallas when they needed him to.

…..so far I loved when they gave him the job right away. Hiring Schqartz is going to be a great move in the long run. Mayhew Rocks!!!

I wouldn't go that far...
He’s been close on a few big deals, but everything else is suspect until they field a good team.
