Tuesday Notes: Orlovsky Wants to Remain a Lion
- Via the Highlight Reel comes the news that Dan Orlovsky wants to return to the Lions in 2009.
One thing Orlovsky hopes to make known to the organization is his feelings. Despite everything that happened this season, he wants to come back to Detroit and turn things around.
I would take Orlovsky over someone like Daunte Culpepper any day based on how last season played out, but we'll have to see if the feeling is mutual and the Lions want Orlovsky back.
"There's two reasons really why I want to go back," the former Shelton High star said. "I want to be part of change, like I was at UConn. I want to be able to be part of something that I can hang my hat on when I'm 50. And I want to play with (receiver) Calvin (Johnson), so we'll see. They have a pretty good idea where my mind is, my heart is, but I haven't said those exact words to them. I'm sure once contract talks get started, I'll have the opportunity to talk to them."People know I want to be back there, but you have to be wanted also. I'm going to do what's best for me and my family and for my career, so a lot of thought will go into it, but I want the opportunity."
- The list of players invited to the 2009 NFL Combine has been released.
- Dave Birkett spoke with James Harris on Monday but there wasn't really anything too noteworthy discussed in their brief conversation.
- Thanks to the Lions, Chicago, Green Bay, and Minnesota have the easiest schedules in 2009. The Lions have the 12th easiest schedule.
- Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford sounded very excited about potentially being drafted by the Lions during an interview with Dan Patrick from last week.

Sweet!!
Its nice to see someone have the attitude where he actually wants to come back and help the team get better. Since he played well at the end of the season I will be anxious to see him play next year. He should progress a lot after having starting experience.

I know I'm in the minority here...
but I hope the Lions resist the temptation to waste time on another average quarterback. Hopefully if the Lions re-sign him, I regret these words. I just think he’s never going to be good enough to win a championship with. I’d rather see Kitna and Stanton battle it out and be praying that Stanton wins. If not, start Kit and draft someone next year. Or…..
welcome in Matthew Stafford!!!!!
Yeah, I knew that’d get a rise out of most of you!

Not a fan of Kitna,,,,,,,,, kinda.
Kitna is a 50/50 QB —-50% TD’s 50% INT’s he will make a great QB coach someday so why not have him in the wings now?? Every QB that has been under him, learning from him, has done well when Kitna mentored them and then when he (Kitna) was on the side lines “coaching” them, from his time with the Dragons to the Seahawks to the Bengals every Qb that has followed in his footsteps has done a great job as long as Kitna was still with the team but NOT the starter and now i think with Dan O. he has the chance to do a fine job teaching him as well. GIVE DAN O. A CHANCE FROM THE START!!!
my 2 cents
