I think to get the most out of this draft the lions need impact starters from the 1st three picks. There can be no mistakes with these picks, here our my 3 picks I would take to help turn us around quickly.
1st rd. Arron curry- Fills a glaring need at linbacker, he can come in from week 1and be a wrecking ball at Sam side linebacker. We can't afford to botch this pick and Schwartz knows this, a QB could be a bust, none of the lineman look like a future orlando pace, Arron curry is the safest pick that could help from week 1.
1st rd. pick 20. Duke robinson- The new OC mentioned Bakcus as one of the 3 lineman he liked and thought well of. If the right takle falls to us here maybe but not likely. Duke robinson could step in at left guard from week 1 and be a stud. Bakcus, Robinson, Raiola, Ramirez, Cherilus would be a upgrade over last year and keep who ever the Q.B was on their feet a second or two longer, not to mention plow the way for Kevin Smith.
2nd rd. 1st pick. Alphonso Smith- Our secondairy was horrbile last year and if he's still on the board he would be a great pick. Another guy who could come in and start from week one and be an upgrade. He's a smart quick DB, a little undersized, but his great instincts could proabably get us more INT then the entire team had last year.
Coming off a 0-16 year this draft is a little different, being hopefully their 1st 3 picks will be with us, and play at a high level FOR OUR TEAM for years to come...
