Tuesday Notes: Jason Smith Visits Lions
- Baylor offensive tackle Jason Smith visited the Lions on Monday. He is the first potential top draft pick to visit Allen Park and won't be the last. The Lions will try to bring in every player they are considering drafting with the top overall selection to get a better idea of what these players are like off the field.
- Free agent tight end L.J. Smith has stayed in contact with the Lions, meaning he hasn't decided to not sign with them just yet.
- The NFL released the full draft order on Monday. Compensatory picks aren't included yet, though.
- The NFL Network's Mike Mayock doesn't think the Lions should draft Matthew Stafford.
- Nicholas Cotsonika picked Matthew Stafford with the #1 pick in ESPN2's First Take mock draft.
- The Simpsons took a shot at the Lions on Sunday.
- The UFL, a new football league, has hired its coaches and also locked up a TV deal with Versus.

Sorry For The Slight Hijack
But Arrowhead Pride has posted the first draft pick for our mock draft and I made the selection for Detroit. I grabbed Aaron Curry instead of Matt Stafford…mainly because of your feedback yesterday (you made a good case for him). Thanks for the assist and we’d obviously love it if you guys would pop over to our mock and offer feedback.

Predictions for 2009
1. Todd Haley's going to struggle with managing his staff in his rookie year as head coach.
2. The Lions will draft Matt Stafford, the Rams will draft Jason Smith, and the Chiefs will draft either Aaron Curry or Eugene Monroe.
