Is it just me...
…or does Jim Rome make anyone else want to punch him in the face. Just in general, not really anything to do with this interview in particular. I just can’t stand him.

I like him...
but he is condescending as hell and can become obnoxious, but I think he’s overall pretty entertaining. His tv show is nowhere near as bad as his radio show though. I sometimes turn him off when he rants about things for more than a couple of minutes, also he rags on the Lions constantly, so that’s kind of annoying but it’s not like we haven’t earned it.

The one thing I can't stand
When someone like Rome or another talking head blasts a figure, a team, what have you, and then when they get them on their show, pucker up to put a big ol’ smooch on their backsides.
This really isn’t the case, because Rome is usually blasting the organization, not Schwartz.
It just reminded me. Either stick by your guns and ask the tough questions (call people out) or don’t give me these 12 minute rants about how terrible something is just so you try and get a few more listeners.

Exactly
That is one big reason I do not like Jim Rome. He’s fake and tries to thump his chest when he’s not intimidating or credible. Plus, his show is friggin’ boring. No character. It feels SO scripted. Obviously, most shows are scripted…but TRY to hide it at least.

I think you're forgetting...
when he did not back down to Jim Everett years ago when he came on his show… If there’s just one instance that makes me like a guy, it’s this one for Jim Rome. He absolutely did not back down even though he had him on his show. (And I’m sure that on-air fight had studio all over him for not backing down which is why he might come off as a little softer to people who do wind up on his show. But I have no evidence of any of that).
I do think the long pauses are annoying, but I don’t mind Rome one bit. He says things with some force behind it and I think the rants help make his points by him mentioning every argument he can possibly think of. Just my opinion, though. I can see why people don’t like him.
Great interview overall by JS. Pride of Detroit, I posted this video on my blog earlier and just wanted to say thanks for posting it for us to see who may have overlooked it. Thanks and keep up the good work here.

Good Interview
Just wish I could figure out who we are gonna draft but they are doing a good job keeping their cards close to their chests :(

Maybe I'm crazy
…but is Jim Schwartz rocking a faux hawk. This interview is exactly what you would expect from a new head coach. Controlled, calculated and he didn’t slip any info out from any of Jim Rome’s weak attempts.

I don't know if it's an actual faux hawk but it sort of looks like it in the front

It is definitely a faux hawk...
And he looks like Patrick Swayze’s partner from that new show, The Beast.

Player Rather Than Position
I LOVED that he said that. This gives me hope that Stafford will not be drafted UNLESS he is a solid franchise player. But from the sound of it, they don’t believe he is a “can’t miss” pick.
Jim, you gotta go OT or OLB! But you know what, if we go Stafford, I will back them up 100%…as always.

Schwartz!
Dude is all ABOUT the similes.
First comparing the rebuilding of the organization to losing weight. Then he rips off another comparing hte draft to playing poker.
He is real heady guy, I like him.

Also Schwartz said
the Lions need to make sure they lower their pad level.
