The Lions' REAL Biggest Need

I was reading through ralphgoblue's post about our needs as a team and was troubled by some of the findings.  I will agree that we need a solid MLB...you get no argument from me there.   However, we give up huge pass plays almost every game....most of which throw a dagger in our motivational heart for the rest of the game or put the nail in the coffin altogether.  I feel like our CB position and DE pass rushing situations are a lot to blame for this.  Obviously, our run defense needs to be more solid to force these teams to throw and create problems that way....but that doesn't take away from my point.  We've never been strong in the CB position.

My question to you is:   Do we feel like Anthony Henry and Philip Buchanon are going to solve those problems overall??   Though these guys are good players and solid acquistions, I am not convinced that they are the answer.

Just give me your feedback.  Overall, I feel like this defensive issue is much more important than our offensive woes.  I feel we are MUCH farther away from success with our D than we are on the offensive side of the ball.  With Calvin Johnson, Kevin Smith, Maurice Morris, Bryant Johnson, Daunte Culpepper..I feel that this formula is stronger than the D (though obviously not playoff material yet).

On a side note, I love the site and reading your posts.  This is an excellent community for Lions fans.
