The Lions COULD have a GREAT 3-4  defense...if...

I'm sure by now ;many of you that are reading this post ,know that I WANT A.Curry OLB ( W.Forest ) to be drafted 1st overall by the Lions..He could improve this defense alot ( just by his self- - gives them speed, size, cover ability, great vs run-- perfect fir for ANY NFL team-- needless to say an 0-16 : NO defense team ) They need to draft Curry 1st and switch to a 3-4 defense ( Pittsburgh,New End,San Diego are very successful with it ).

This would give the Lions  (  C.Avril at ROLB--- speed pass rusher: J.Peterson LOLB --- controlled pass rusher- - also lines up on the TE side to "chuck him---jam him at line..: E.Sims RILB- - - move sideline-sideline--drop back--jam the middle..: A.Curry LILB--moves sideline to sideline--jam middle--and COVER TE)..With the 3-4 defense ,this helps out a pass rush, but more importantantly it helps a pass defense ( offenses have to guess what guys are blitzing, what guys are dropping back into coverage) ..this gives the CB the ablity to "sag" somewhat onto deeper routes ( the 4 Linebackers will be spread in away to take most of the short sideline guys, and crossing routes away)..3-4 adds pressure to an offense, they cant sit back and pick a defense apart (seems perfect for this Lions team- - a below avg DL right now)..

They take A.Curry 1st ...at 20)J.Perry DT (Ole Miss) ... 33) OL (basically the best one on the board..there will be 2-3 real good ones still) .. 65) our MOST important draft spot (we know what they are getting 1-20-33---OL DT LB/CB/DE: PLZ take the BEST player that "slipped--fell--dropped this far--someone ALWAYS drops 10-15 spots ,maybe they ran poor at combine,or inch small,20 lbs over-under weight..GRAB BEST PLAYER here...ANY PLAYER..OL..WR..DE..CB..Safety..even LB(yes Linebacker--need depth with 3-4)..

82) Best TE ( i think the BIGGEST "need area for this team (after its signings sofar"- - - a Speed, seem, recv TE is an area Lions DO NOT have)..

     A.Curry--E.Sims--C.Avril--J--Peterson     sounds REAL NICE...
