We should forget about all of that and just draft Curry #1. We let Culpepper and Stanton battle it out in the preseason and go with the better of the two. We take the best LT at pick 20, we let the rook and Backus battle it out, and we go with the best of the two. If the rook looks like he is better at left tackle, then Backus moves to guard. We have Peterman and Ramirez also competing at guard, and we could stand to draft Mack or Unger at pick 33 (both of which could play guard or center). It is not absolutely necessary that we have a "franchise" QB this year. We could wait until next year to draft when the stock is much better. If a good trade is offered to us for Cutler, then we take it. But I say we can not allow ourselves to go crazy trying to get 1 guy, when the team has so many holes to fill. I want Cutler in Detroit just as bad as the rest of you, but to give up both first round picks? I would not do that if I were the GM of the Lions. Pick 1 and our second 3rd round pick for Cutler? Maybe, but I really think having Curry would be better. Pick 20 and 33 for Cutler? That I would do, because I could still draft Curry and get a different left tackle in the 3rd round. Pick 1 and 33 for Cutler and pick 12? Hell yeah baby....I would overlook the loss of Curry for the ability to get Cutler and still have 2 first round picks. No matter what the offer was, I would not give up both first round picks....not even for Peyton Manning or Tom Brady.
