Pride of Detroit

I just wanted to take a post off from all of the draft talk and say thanks to everyone who has been posting regularly on the site. We have had a lot of really good debates and discussions lately about the lions and even though we don't have a say in the draft, it sure is fun to talk about.

Those that i'm talking about, you know who you are. Thanks for keeping it interesting and never hostile. We have a great community here and it's nice to know that we'll all be around, even when we are 0-16 haha. What other team can say that? None, actually!

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Pride of Detroit or its writers. FanPosts are valued expressions of opinion by passionate and knowledgeable fans.

I agree

I found this site about a month ago and I have enjoyed having a place to share opinions, get frustrations off my chest, and talk with a great group of Lions fans that all share each others pain. Thanks for being there, everybody.

"Too many group hugs around here lately."

A Mayhew quote that doesn’t stand true around here, I’ve been reading quite a bit lately, always like the banter. Keep it up!

Agreed 100%

Ever since I found this site, I’ve spent WAY too many hours, both at work and at home, cruising the posts and hoping for new news tidbits to pop up. It’s pretty safe to say that my day doesn’t really start until I’ve digested the daily notes on the front page.
Thanks a lot, Sean and everybody. Let’s keep this going!

It's exciting

I’ve been visiting this site virtually everyday for about a year now and I love how it’s constantly being updated and intelligent discussions are happening all the time. I also think it’s great that there’s been an increase in contribution. It’s brilliant.

This site is a life saver

It’s very difficult to talk about the Lions here in Chicago, im thankful that this site is full of good guys and devoted Lions fans. Honestly, because of this site im more excited about the upcoming season and the pick ups than i have ever been in my 20 years as a fan. I look forward to our discussions once the season starts.

Pride of Detroit is the best support group for Lions fans, im glad i found you guys.

Whether it be this year, next year, or 50 years from now. The Detroit Lions will eventually win a Super Bowl............I f'n hope.

That don't impress me much.

Six -fifty? You think that is early? Wait until you graduate and have to join the real world.

Same here

My sleeping schedule has been awful this semester. Waking up before 10 is a struggle for me.

I'm happy for you

I can’t punch out anymore because I’m laid off. I have a degree that makes me “over qualified” for just about every job I apply for.(That’s Human Resource code for – we don’t want to pay you more than 12 bucks an hour) The only thing I can afford to do for fun anymore is post on this blog in between on-line applications. I wish all I had to worry about was high school.

Haha I hear you.

Being in the military, when i’m on days, I do PT at 5:00, so I am done running 3 miles and doing other random nonsense before you get up for school.

I don’t mind it though. I goto college too. Enjoy high school why you can man, once you get done with school and have to get a job, life is a lot less fun.

by MatthewDC on Mar 21, 2009 4:11 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm in the military too

I’m on a different schedule right now because I’m in korea. James L, I feel you. I spent a year out of the Army and I crawled back on my knees.

by Quez81 on Mar 23, 2009 9:24 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm not military

But my best employment option right now is the Border Patrol. I’ve done well on the preliminary testing. I regret not having served in the military and as life goes on, I wished I’d done more to earn this freedom that most people I know take for granted. My window is closing to change things, but if I get in the BP, I"ll feel like I’ve finally put myself in the position to do something.

same here

I posted a thanks a couple days ago. Living in San Francisco now. It is hard to find intelligent sports fans in general. Not to mention good Lions fans. I love this site. Thanks Sean, and everyone else here.

by JCruize on Mar 21, 2009 2:45 AM EDT reply actions

I enjoy this site too

I only started posting here a couple of weeks ago and find the discussions pretty lively with a good mix of intelligent banter and way out boosterism. I have been a Lions fan since 1968 [when I was eleven] so it is nice to share some memories and get an idea where the fans want this team to go.

by NorthLeft12 on Mar 21, 2009 6:06 AM EDT reply actions

optimism

I would really like to say hats off to Sean his objectiveness and his optimism.

Luckily I am a young Lions fan and have not had to endure the years of disappointment that many of my fellow fans have endured. I always thought the lions would eventually win a game this past season and this experience most of us have shared as fans will make our next win all the more enjoyable.

POD is an excellent site

as are most SBNation sites. Sean does a fantastic job keeping everything here current and running smoothly and the large number of posters is great. That’s what really improves a site is when everyone shares their thoughts and opinions. I’ve been on here for quite a while now and visit several times a day. Great source for information and good natured conversation (though with the state of the Lions the last few years, it’s hard to be good natured about them). Thanks Sean.

Sean is awesome.

I have visited some of the other SB Nation blogs and they aren’t even close to the level of up to date news as Sean posts. Its nice because we can get all the most important info from Seans daily updates and then i love that little news feed at the bottom of the sidebar.

Plus the other SB Nation blogs, a lot of the ones I went to, had the last fanpost like a month or weeks ago. We post probably 10 a day haha.

This is my favorite Lions forum

And I have been to many of them. The opinions posted here are (usually) intelligent and at least well thought out. I appreciate that fact the all of you guys are big Lions fans, even though they have sucked in repeatedly. Makes me feel like I am not alone. I can tell you one thing is for sure….if the Lions ever win a Superbowl in my life, it will make me cry. Laugh if you want, but I love them that much.

by KDawg on Mar 21, 2009 11:23 PM EDT reply actions

LOL!!

Crying KDawg? Really, I might too. I will rub it in everyones faces until the day I die. I get clowned on a daily basis for being a Lion fan.
