Who are the Top 3 Worst Lions
Let's try and look at this from a different angle. Who are currently the three worst starters in your opinions?
That will give us an indication of our largest areas of need.
Right now, I say that our 3 worst starters are :
1. Jordan Dizon, MLB (Although we haven't really seen him play)
2. Chuck Darby, DT (He just sucks)
3. Peterman, RG (Where is loper playing? He's taking mulitalo's spot right/?) I don't care if they re-signed peterman, he's a backup.
So in essence, I would want MLB, DT, RG, so Curry, Jerry, Unger.
Anyone else?

ive been posting this all over khalif barnes is still available off FA he took over for boscelli in jax and we can agree thats big shoes to fill this guy has serious talent and if not for a few off field issues would have been taken weeks ago with him loper added in our line would be good then we can concentrate our draft picks where there needed MLB,DT/DE,CB,QB but defense for sure we lost most of our games in the 4th Qtr when the defense give the game up so 1 more FA and use our draft picks wisely if we go stafford 1st (i got a bad feelin we are too) then we need to try and get ray ma if he there or laurenitis fill the MIDDLE AND GO de/dt NEXT
DT, MLB, LG....
Darby is a part-timer. I guess at his age so is Grady. No MLB. Dizon should play SS. And there is no LG. I that you drafted a guard. You are one of the first that I have seen to mention drafting a guard. Raji, Laurinaitis, Mack
cuz...............
everyone wants to draft a new LT and push backus to guard.
Not just the worst one...
You have to look at our overall depth at a position. To me the worst positions for the Lions in order are MLB, DT, and QB. Considering the impact that the DTs have on the performance of the MLB, the key position for improvement is at defensive tackle. Size wise, athletic ability, and depth. Then MLB. We have no [none, nada, zero, zilch] good sized MLBs.
Those are my two priorities for the 2009 draft.
Raiola should be in this discussion...
A lot of Detroiters are high on Raiola but the rest of the division must love playing against him. When the NFC North GM’s and coaches ranked personnel within the division Raiola was dead last on all lists. Yet every year some dumb@ss announcer mentions him as a Pro-bowl candidate …right. He gets pushed into the backfield even when he pulls. He is just too small for the new offensive direction.
That why I like unger so much.
He can play guard or center really. So whichever he is needed most at we swap him. Then if we get a good guard next year or move backus, he slides to center… coach schwartz likes versatile players and Unger is a perfect fit..
how can u judge dizon as one of the worst lions if hes played like 2 downs a game that makes no sense. thats like saying that stanton is one of the worst lions and ik that some of u are high on him and dizon didnt have noticeable mistakes when he played stanton played and he tried to run for his life every play and i think he got hurt or concussion or something i cant remember though. all im saying is u cant judge a guy that hasnt played yet
LIONS
Mainly because of his size
and if he was good, they would have found a way to put him in ..
i agree with the MLB assesment thats why if they draft stafford first instead of curry we should be looking at ray ma if hes not available laurenitis would be my next choice at MLB and then a DT then an OT cause there deep in this years draft and i think some of the worse were let go already thats why theres so many arears to be addressed which i think maybe 1 or 2 may be able to be acquirred off FA still if we go other ways in the draft
Good LTs are hard to find.
Not sure why you think that OTs are deep in this draft Waynie. There are two elite [J. Smith and Monroe], one that is close to them with some minor questions regarding his intelligence and dedication [Oher], one talent that has huge questions about his committment [Andre Smith], two more that I’ll describe as the equivalent of Backus [Beatty and Britton], and thats it. The rest of the guys are talked about for Right Tackle, which the Lions drafted Cherilus for last year.
Unfortunately, difference makers are in short supply at all positions. If the Lions want a Left Tackle they can feel safe about, Eugene Monroe is the man. Jason Smith will need a bit of work to fully adapt to the NFL style of play but he has the tools and the attitude to do it. Oher seems to need more coaching and motivation, but he has all the tools to be an elite Left Tackle. But these guys will all be gone by about the twelfth pick. After that you could be drafting a guy that can’t beat out Backus.

worst lions hmm
you know you can point out individuals all you want but lets just say the team was horrid no matter who is too blame. some say raiola some say backus then others peterman. I want to say who the hell is the strength and condionting coach? How many different lines did we play last year becuase of injuries? Hell how many different lines over the last couple years have we played? Of those years we have 2 players that have been there and thru it Raiola and Backus but all you can say is they need to be replaced. How about we get some freaking players that can tay healthy and build some continuity and see how they do. I hate the Peterman resigning if i remember right they guy gets hurt every year? I mean how many ppl did we have on IR last year? Seriously imo opinion you give backus and raiola some help and maybe you might see a pro bowl perfermance outta these guys.
This is really unfair
Dizon has great foresight during plays, sometimes he misses and sometimes he executes on point. I know that, because I payed full attention to pre-season.
The lions do not have 3 really bad players, you could possibly recognize a few as being extremely sub-par but there is not a leveled playing field for this argument. You need to consider age, size, position and level of talent.
um the Lions went 4-0 in the Preseason
and they went 0-16 in the Regular Season, what does that tell you? maybe not to judge Dizon or anyone else by what they did in that time period i mean come on you yourself just said “sometimes he misses and sometimes he executes on point.” and this is against 3rd and 4th Stringers not Starters so if he misses those guys what do you think will happen if he goes against a Starter?
