Trade proposition from Browns Player

Okay so Im a Cleveland Browns fan and i just want to know what you all would say to this trade offer:

Derek Anderson for your 20th pick and a 6th or 7th rounder. Since you all need a good QB and we need an OLB( we could probably pick either matthews or cushing with that pick) this might work out good.

What do u all think?

If you all have a counter offer post that too.

IDK

bout a 20th and a 6th or 7th. I say 33rd pick for him maybe. I dont think hes worth the 20th pick.

i meant to put fan instead of player on the top my bad.

Megatron, DA was a probowler 2 years ago and if u all draft curry or monroe first, and stafford, freeman, and sanchez all come off the board before the 20th pick what would u do.

Probably

wait till next year. See what our qbs this year can do and improve the hell out of the defense. As they say: Defense wins championships.

by Megatron on Mar 21, 2009 5:28 PM EDT up reply actions

I would

play out the year with Culpepper or Stanton. Any team that trades for Derek Anderson is going to be viewing him as the Derek Anderson that got benched in 2008 and not the Pro Bowler from 2007. Matt Cassell went for th 34th overall pick and he was packaged with Mike Vrabel. If that’s the market it’s hard to justify giving up the 20th pick (unless the Browns want to include their 3rd rounder).

The quarterback class is weak

We’d go with Daunte Culpepper (who’s actually in shape this year) who will buy us some time, and take a good hard look at the QB’s next year. The class next year is substantially better than the QB class this year. With Big-Name QBs like Colt McCoy, Sam Bradford, Tim Tebow and potential sleepers like Dan Lefevour, Rusty Smith, and Kellen Lewis. The Lions can get their franchise quarterback next year and focus on the trenches this year.

hahahaha!!!!`

Anderson was benched last season after going 3-5. If he can’t start for Cleveland, why would we want him in Detroit? I’d give you a 4-5th rounder for him. Maybe. He was a flash in the pan, a one year wonder, and would not fix our quarterback situation as the face of the franchise. He is most definitely not worth 1-20 or even 2-1.

Ditto

That would be an awful trade for Detroit.

It wasnt his fault that the browns were bad, we just have a lack of talent and no receivers. The reason he was benched is because we think Brady Quinn has more upside.

by BradyQuinnisBeast on Mar 21, 2009 5:51 PM EDT up reply actions

Agreed

but your still not going to get anything more than a low 3rd rounder from him. The problem is everybody knows you have 2 good QBs and one will have to sit on the bench, why offer the a quality pick when you have to move one of them, like above Cassell went for a 2nd rounder a he’s fresh off a good season, Anderson had one good season then one bad season, not too mention Browns won’t pay him good money sitting on the bench.

by msivits on Mar 21, 2009 6:11 PM EDT reply actions

for around that high of a pick though not this year

I would get Braylon… Even if hes had trouble catching the ball, he’s a top talent and if anyone members Michigan, a game changer. I personally would not trade for Anderson when we have a decent chance of getting Cutler. Browns want to much for Anderson and i agree the most we would offer would be a low 3rd rounder

by Liontotheextreme on Mar 21, 2009 7:08 PM EDT reply actions

why would ANY team give up a high draft pick for Anderson?

Cleveland will end up releasing him next yr or give him a HUGE contract bonus..
hes not as good as Stanton

by thunder_god08 on Mar 21, 2009 9:01 PM EDT reply actions

You Are Right, We Do Need A Good QB.

BQiB; Unfortunately Derek Anderson is not a good QB. Culepper used to be a Pro Bowler, a near MVP too, a few years ago. We’ll take our chances with him and Stanton.

Thanks, but we don’t need your bench warmers.

by NorthLeft12 on Mar 21, 2009 9:20 PM EDT reply actions

not sure

If he would’ve had a season as good or better than 2yrs ago maybe for a 3rd rd pick. But seeing how he did last yr no .we’ll find our QB someday. But not Anderson looks like he could be another S.Mitchel 1great season for Marino then just a medocore career after that .Or let him start again next yr see how he does and maybe offer us somekinda trade if he has a good season Maybe

by MotorcityMaddogg on Mar 21, 2009 11:57 PM EDT reply actions

Give us back big baby and throw in DA

and I’ll give you the 2nd rounder. I don’t see anyone on the board at 2.1 that I like more than getting back Rogers and having a solid backup QB to rely on when peppy goes down who could challenge the starter.

by MatthewDC on Mar 22, 2009 3:39 PM EDT reply actions

Derek Anderson is not 1st round material,

with that being said, i would trade the 3rd pick and most certainly not anything within the 1st or 2nd round.
