another mock draft and starters after

#1A- DT B.J. Raji- much needed position and im starting to like him more and more every day

#1B-OT Andre Smith- Character issues and all, he is a beast and i think that he has the talent to be the best OT in this draft

#2-MLB James Lairantius- i think that he is going to fall into the second round and reminds me of another MLB who falled to the second round in paul polzunsy of the buffalo bills.

#3A-SS Patrick Chung-will step in as starting safety by the end of the season.

#3B-TE-Cornelius Ingram-steal of a pick in round 3, and will be starter

#6A-WR Quan Cosby-older(26), but has alot of talent and a great value pick

#6B-DE-Maurice Evans-could be a great rotation type of player and maybe a starter after DeWayne White is gone.

#7A-OLB-Solomon Elimimian-could be a great special teams player and i think a steal in the 7th round

#7B-CB-Donald Washington-big mistake coming out early, but will be a great special teams player and may  someday make a difference on defense

#7C-RB-Brandon Ore-remember him from VT? could make a difference on special teams and may see some time on offense.

QB-Culpepper                 OT-cherilus and Smith

RB-smith                          OG- peterman and Backus

Raji not worth #1 money. And to smith hmm yeah all we need is a offensive shuan rogers. Yes rogers was good but only when he decided to play. He was lazy and fat and never made weight, yup thats what we need all over again. as to the rest of the draft it doesn’t look bad.

Then who is?

I like Curry personally. I like Raji and Monroe.

Stafford? How can someone whose not even the number ranked player in the draft be worth the money given to the number one pick in the draft?

Linebackers aren’t worth the money?
Raji isn’t worth the money?
I guess that would leave one of the tackles who is worth the money?

I do agree about Smith though. I am wondering if this beating he’s taking by scouts and the media will give him pause. I doubt it though.

And I like Laurinitis. I’ve said it here before, he reminds me of another former 2nd round buckeye that we took. Spielman. With more athleticism.

Curry

I think Curry is worth the money. I don’t like Stafford. ANd Monroe adn Smith are worth it also. Raji to me is anoter rogers or Haynesworth. we can get that later in rd 1 or early in 2

It doesn't matter who's worth the money

A linebacker isn’t going to get quarterback money at 1-1, neither will a defensive tackle. They’ll get money commensurate with their positions. I would think they’d be the highest, or close to it, paid players AT THEIR POSITIONS.

No one is going to to pay Curry or Raji like QB’s. The average salary of the top 5 paid players in each catrgory (I took this towards the cap value) for a LB in 2008 was $8.14 mil. For a DT it was $7.70 mil. QB’s in 2008 were at $14.44 mil and OL were at $8.60 mil

There is no way that a LB is going to make 14 mil per season. Not for a rookie, not for the #1 pick in the draft. He will get a very large signing bonus, as will anyone at 1-1 but he will get much less than a QB or even an OT.

Curry is still my pick for 1-1 but I would be ok with Raji, J Smith or E Monroe (just not Stafford).
