Mock draft help

Hello Lion's fans. I'm here from the land of coffee and Seahawks, looking for some help in a mock draft we're doing here in Seattle.

I drew Detroit out of the hat as the team to pick for, so can anyone give me some help as to what the team's needs, wants and desires may be?

Looks like we're going about four rounds, following whichever picks the teams actually have. As far as I know, no trades are allowed.

So you have the 1st and 20th picks as far as I know. What do you think?

my mistake, pressed enter too quickly.
IMO the top needs for the lions are at OT, LB, DT and CB.

After Eugene Monroe, I would suggest taking a LB next.

Oh lord

1st pick between curry and smith, pick 20 If I had my way sure the LB for a while and go for 2, James L from ohio st.

To be honest, I've been leaning towards Curry.

I have a day or two before I have to make the pick though, so I’m still trying to do some research.

Wow

I didn’t think you thought that highly of Andre Smith. I would say they “should” draft Curry #1…..but most likely it will be GAG Stafford. I really, really hate to say that.

Needs

QB, OG, CB, DT, LB, LT in that order. CB is definitely a position we are trying to address in FA. OG was our weakest OL position, but there is obviously no value in OG at 1 or 20, but definitely 2nd or 3rd Rd guys that could fill that hole.

OG 4 real?

The lions definitely need to move Backus to Gaurd and draft a LT with picks 1 or 20. It should be Jason Smith or Eugene Monroe at 1, or William Beatty at 20 IMO. The only guard that I would ever want the lions to draft is Duke Robinson Oklahoma, but I am sure he wont make it past Pittsburgh at 32.

Really, the lions need to solidify their interior lines with rookies this draft. That way they have a year of experience and will know the NFL game before having to protect a franchise QB. Otherwise we are just going to see another over paid quarterback get sacked around 50 times a season and play with a shell-shock sack perspective whom forces plays that turn into INTs. Of course they might not start him, but when the lions are looking at 2 and 6 or 3 and 9 they will.
Those are really the only cons I see, he does have plenty of upside. But after watching the MSU Georgia game the first half showed me how he handles himself under defensive pressure, something he will constantly be under playing with Backus at LT. That is just my speculation.

I’m not sold on Stafford at #1, but I will say QB is a glaring need. I do agree about beefing up the lines. I also am not sure about moving Backus to guard, a position he has not proven he can play. I’d prefer we can get someone that can maul and open up the run game. LT does need to be addressed this year or next.

Aaron Curry at 1-1

LB, CB or OT at 1-20 and 2-1.

Too many needs... so little time

Hopefully the Lions Executives use the past 50+ years of futility into consideration when they take the #1 pick this year. If they want Stafford then we should pick Aaron Curry… If they want Curry then they should take Jason Smith. (Whatever they want… they should take the opposite) or copy everything the Steelers are doing and in 20 years or so they will have a winner.

Seriously though
Aaron Curry #1
The best offensive lineman #2

Agree with Curry....

…..But with sucg a deep draft at O line we can wait until 2 – 1 to get a o lineman and get another def player at 1.20
