I remember a little while back a bunch of you posted your own take on what the new Lions logo should or would look like if you had the opportunity to design it yourself. I don't know if anybody saw that the Detroit News ran a contest to design one(maybe that is where the original post here came from?) but they posted the winner on their website along with a gallery of other entries. Some of them are pretty cool, some not so much. The winning design is actually really nice except for the shade of blue it uses. Anyway I'm posting a link to the contest winner and there is a link on that page to look through the gallery of the other entries. Enjoy!

I like our current design

I looked through the first 30 or so designs and noticed that many of them were trying to be to fancy. There was probably only 3-4 that I would consider for own own and they were a little more simplistic. In the end though, I like our current logo.

It’s a blue prancing animal cracker with a nickname “Bubbles”!!!! (Imagine that sentence said with a Jeff Garcia-type lisp)LOL
Go back to the throwback logo of the stalking Lion with the blue and silver bars behind it.

I'm not a big fan of the stalking Lion

Sure, it has tradition and if it was kept for all those years I’d be for it but we do need to stay somewhat modern and I think our current logo is much better.

I agree, a lot of them were either trying to do too much, or impractical because they were more sketches than logo. I liked that a couple of them tried to incorporate the Tigers’ D into the logo (although they pretty much failed for the most part) but I don’t think Illitch would ever go for that. I do like our current logo better than most of the ones I saw in there.

There was one that looked like it was by a kid, but it just kinda said “Lions!” and then had claws tearing through the side of the helmet. I don’t think that would be bad to work in somewhere on an alternate uni or something, with some sort of claw tears or something.
