Lions Sign Cody Spencer, Re-Sign Aveion Cason

Continuing to add depth to the roster, the Lions signed linebacker Cody Spencer and re-signed running back Aveion Cason today.  Both deals are for one year.

Spencer played under Jim Schwartz in Tennessee during the first two years of his career before landing with the Jets for the previous three.  He is a reserve linebacker as well as a solid special teams player.  Cason is very similar.  He has been on and off the Lions roster quite a few times over the years and is back for another year as a reserve running back and in all likelihood a special teams player as well.

Whyyyyyy

Cason is such a piece of shit. One of the single worst kick returners ever. Hopefully Schwartz has someone else in mind for the job, but given that he kept fucking Kwan, that might not be the case.
