Good to see
Their poll numbers are fairly similar to the poll on POD. The only difference was that Stafford is second in the poll on here. Either way, I’m glad Curry won by a good margin. Maybe that will send a message to the front-office that the majority of fans don’t want Stafford.

I can't argue that as I'd like to have Curry as well
But is this just being gun-shy after failing so dramatically since Landry? I don’t see much better options next season. You never know if you’re ging to get a winner or not. I’d still like Curry but will settle for Stafford as long as they take an OT at 1-20 or trade for Peters.

Jettero, it's good to finally see...
you coming around a little. I think if people really think about the long-term for the Lions and the lack of a decent quarterback, it should be unnerving to them. It is to me. Of course, the defense gives me the same feeling. And the o-line… and the… geez, better stop while I’m ahead.

I will not...
Come around however. We have the tools in place to wait a year for a QB, but we can’t wait every damn year to get some defense. I wan’t to go with defense with at lease 2 of the top three picks, and we can’t draft Stafford without getting an OT at some point, so if we draft Stafford, the defense again goes without improvement. DRAFT DEFENSE.

YES!
Now if the draft can only go so well…

whoa, for a second there
I thought the title read “Detroit Lions choose Aaron Curry #1 overall”!
I was about to get really excited. At this point I’m pretty much torn in half between Jason Smith and Curry, but would be really happy with either.

I wonder how many of the prospects went to the Lions site and voted for themselves
just a curious thought

Is anyone else...
bothered by the way DetroitLions.com reported that result? Why wouldn’t they list in order of the ? They put Stafford first even though he had 23 rather than Curry’s 37%. Just weird to me, I guess.

Makes you think
That was the first thing I noticed as well. It ‘s not a big stretch to imagine that it’s an indication of the order they have these players ranked on their draft board—Stafford, Smith, Curry.

I totally..
noticed that too. I hated it and thought that it was a bad sign. As if the site was trying to subliminally put Stafford first into the head of whoever reads that article.

Look through the Honolulu Blue Eyes
I am a HUGE Curry fan, and I hope they pick him. Buuuuut, something I heard on sports radio today made me think. If the Lions draft Curry #1, he will immediately become the highest paid linebacker in NFL history, without ever making a tackle. More than Ray Lewis, more than Urlock in their primes, more than anybody. See the perspective of Lions management, (unfortunately). And if they wait until next year to draft a quarterback, they’re not going to pull another “Joey Sunshine” and throw him to the wolves. He’ll hold a clipboard. That means not one, but 2 years of Culpep, or whomever, with MORE fan pressure, which is something they need LESS of. I’m a Lions Fan, and a businessman. Think, kids.

Fan Pressure?
1. Shiney, Smith or Curry will be overpaid.
2. The next two years do not bode well regardless. At least with Curry, the games could be fun to watch – just to see one bone crunching tackle.
3. Seems to me – if Lions’ management wants LESS fan pressure, it would be wise to select the vote winner from their own site.
4. I’m a Lions’ fan, and a businessman. I don’t ask kids to do my thinking. (Sorry for the sarcasm – just frustrated over the possibility that Stafford will be chosen #1. )
The thing that’s really frustrating to me is the word, “but”. What this means is: “Ignore everything that was said up to this point.” Why must the fact that most experts rank Curry ahead of Stafford be ignored? Why must the fact that most Lions fans prefer the Lions draft Curry (and Smith as well!) be ignored?
