The solution for the Lions in my opinion is Michael Vick. Why Vick?
* Rest assured the Lions would have one of the top three running games in the NFL next season with Vick under center.
* Vick would help the defense because of ball control and his unusual propensity to keep the chains moving.
* Most importantly for the Lions, Vick is "recession-proof" — he would sell out Ford Field.

i think............
i already posted an article that stated Detroit is the dog fighting capitol in the U.S. That seems alot like locking Rosey O’Donnell in a room with a spoon and five gallons of ice cream and saying " No, No, NO!" then leaving the room. There is no way this would be a fix, maybe, maybe, for the Lions short term at least till Vick violates his probation. I’d bet week 3.

I totally agree on Vick.
Vick’s a PRO BOWLER. His best receiver was a TE, who magically caught more TD’s than Detroit’s top receiver. He didn’t have elite receivers or O-line, and was still a 1st down machine! Now he can be signed for pennies, with incentives.
Michael Vick is the closest Detroit will EVER get to another Barry Sanders type, whether he’s running OR passing. Whatever he lacks, he still consistently gets chunks of YARDS, and neutralizes blitzes. Let’s see who the “idiot” is, if Minnesota gets him.
He’ll be dynamite when given his second chance. Going all out, to redeem himself. Knowing full well that this is his ONLY chance. I’d certainly love to see that redemption happen on MY team, and in my crumbling city… ALL in need of the same.
