The Lions have reportedly opened negotiations

with Georgia QB Matthew Stafford, Wake Forest LB Aaron Curry and Baylor OT Jason Smith.

Everyone knows I'd prefer Curry overall and have been on that bandwagon from day one. I could handle either Jason Smith or Matthew Stafford (rather have Mark Sanchez, though) at 1-1 but they for sure need to get the pick signed before next Saturday. With the unveiling of the new uniforms on Monday, I kind of hoped they'd announce who they're selecting then. Very good marketing/publicity stunt.

Lucky

I have finals the next two weeks, with the draft splitting them up. Can’t wait for the 28th to get here, then the Summer of Sean begins. Lol.

We already knew it was going to be one of those 3....

For those of us defensive minded guys, let’s hope it’s Curry. However, Stafford was on the Jimmy Fallon show the other night throwing footballs at plates that Fallon was tossing……he hit all but one and was breaking them. He looked good, and once again I will say that if he is our pick, I will support him.

At Hitting Plates.....

……Thats like hitting guys running down field at a workout with no rush and no pressure…..Doesnt mean anything…..NO STAFFORD!!!!!

Curry's agent, Andy Ross, is in Detroit today

meeting with Lewand. He also attended the morning workout.

No Monroe?

I’m still not comfortable with the fact that before the combine Jason Smith was considered a late 1st rd pick but then he bench pressed alot and now he’s #1. Meh.

Curry

Wouldnt suprise me if he took $25 million up front, instead of the $30-$40 million being rumored for the first pick.

That would be very good

and wouldn’t surprise me either. Take Curry at 1-1 and trade up and snag Sanchez at 1-10. Give up 1-20, 3-18 and a pick next year.

Would probably never happen but it would be cool and we’d get Sanchez, instead of Stafford, who I think is the better of the two anyway.

That's what I was thinkig also

If he agrees to take that it gonna be really hard to pass on him…

I don't think trading up is a good idea.....

But Curry #1 for 25 mill would be EXCELLENT.

And with the first pick...

Aaron Curry coming out on Monday modeling the Lions new home jersey. Go Lions!!!!

Now that would be a hilarious surprise

I would pay to see the looks on the reporters faces at the unveiling.

I'd probably stroke out at work

Does anyone know if this press conference or whatever it is will be streamed over the internet live?

Good question

They would be smart to do that.
