Something I've beeen thinking about regarding the draft and shoring up our deficits on the team -
If we're going to draft Stafford, why don't we grab our MLB (Laurinitis) with 1b, then get Unger or Mack (Hopefully Unger) with our first 2nd rounder? It would be stupid to take a less than desireable LT who may not pan out, when we could take arguably the most versatile, smartest C in the draft, who could not only fill in @ G for this year, but could potentially take Raiola's place next year?
We would have our "QB of the Future", fill the gaping hole at Mike, AND gain a huge asset on our O-Line, all in the first 33 picks! Someone tell me that wouldn't be great.
I'm not even for drafting Stafford, but if we're gonna, we might as well do this right. How is the 0-16 team who was dead last in defense for years going to go offense with its first 2 picks?
Ideally, I'd say we grab Curry, then Peria Jerry or a real solid DB, then grab Unger, (worry about your QB next year, don't subject him to Joey treatment). Culpepper has his coordinator back... stop trying to be flashy!
