I'm ready for the real thing already.
Pick #1: If they draft Stafford, I won't like it but I'll support him. He'd be a Lion. If they draft an O-lineman, I'd be happy with that. If they draft Curry, I'd be very happy.
Pick #20: I'd be happy if they'd address whatever position wasn't addressed at pick #1, just no QB here. Don't even mention the name
Freeman. I'd also be happy with D-line here.
Pick #33: I'd be happy with D-line and O-line here but it all depends on the previous 2 picks. Corner or Safety, I don't care which, could be an option here. It would all depend on how Schwartz feels about Anthony Henry playing CB or Safety, and if Gerald Alexander isn't gunshy after his spinal injury.
Pick #65: If Linebacker hasn't been addressed by the time this pick rolls around, I'd hope this would be the spot. Any later and you lose out on McKillop or any other potential starter. If Linebacker has been addressed, I'd be okay with a D-lineman or O-lineman here.
Pick #82: By this spot, I just don't have an opinion anymore. I once thought a Tight End would be good here. Maybe some D-line or O-line depth. Maybe Pat White although I don't think he'd make a good fit in Linehan's Offense. I'd be happy with the best available player, especially if they manage to crack the starting lineup by mid-season.
Ideally, at this point, I'd hope that the Lions have managed to score starters at DT, MLB, and O-line. If they don't take Stafford at #1, I really don't want them to roll the dice on a project QB until the later rounds.
Picks #174, 192, and 255: Just get some solid depth. If QB hasn't been addressed in rounds 1 through 3, grab a project with one of these picks. Who? I don't care. Maybe they'll get lucky. Maybe they won't. But at least any player taken with these picks will be cheap, they'll come to camp having to earn their spot on the team, and maybe they'll push the guy in front of them on the depth chart.
That's all the mocking I have left in me. Bring on the draft already.
