Please let the Bills take Maybin
We need our guys to fall
2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).
Crabtree...
Is pissed! He looks angry and like he wants to play right now.
by damnitdamnitdamnit on Apr 25, 2009 5:26 PM EDT reply actions
Maybin kind of a reach
by Curse of Bobby Layne 50 Years Strong on Apr 25, 2009 5:27 PM EDT reply actions
Yup....
If you haven’t read it yet..The Blind Side is an excellent book.
by damnitdamnitdamnit on Apr 25, 2009 5:28 PM EDT up reply actions
True
Offense heavy, Monroe falling, keep em coming maybe the Chargers GM will get a seizure halfway up to the podium and can’t draft Maualuga
What is going on with Orakpo and Everette Brown
Why are they dropping so much?
Even if we don't take Oher
Maualuga is still there, so is a bunch of others
2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).
Denver will screw us and pick defense Just like they did with Cutler trade
by Runnin' Rebel on Apr 25, 2009 5:28 PM EDT reply actions
or possibly...
Cushing as he’s better for a 3-4
by lions_sucker on Apr 25, 2009 5:29 PM EDT up reply actions
Maybin is going to be a one down player early on just what I want in a first round pick
by Curse of Bobby Layne 50 Years Strong on Apr 25, 2009 5:29 PM EDT reply actions
They have 8 pick one
by Curse of Bobby Layne 50 Years Strong on Apr 25, 2009 5:30 PM EDT up reply actions
I could see them taking moreno or wells..
They really don’t have a solid starter.. Maybe Moreno now, Freeman at 18?
Now that they don't have Shanny
They won’t be able to turn anyone into a 1000 yarder, so they might needs a first round RB.
I'm willing to bet that either oher and maualuga will be available at 20
and the stupid Lions will pick someone else entirely.
glad to help

I guess Seifert is disappointed Moreno won't go to us at #20
and probably nobody else

Without a doubt
If I can’t follow the Lions, I’d follow the Saints, I’m happy they get the player they wanted
They'd have to
2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).
by Hyperion Ecta on Apr 25, 2009 5:35 PM EDT up reply actions
I forgot where I read it...
but i think the Saints did not want a RB.
by damnitdamnitdamnit on Apr 25, 2009 5:36 PM EDT up reply actions
It think a lot of teams have their....
Best player still up on their big board, so the picks are easy.
by damnitdamnitdamnit on Apr 25, 2009 5:35 PM EDT reply actions
But Davis
Is the better talent, so the Saints might take a chance.
by damnitdamnitdamnit on Apr 25, 2009 5:35 PM EDT reply actions
Oher or magualuga at 1-20.
or maybe a trade?

Campbell...
is nowhere near as good as Cutler so he’ll keep his mouth shut.
by lions_sucker on Apr 25, 2009 5:37 PM EDT up reply actions
He’ll wait out the year and leave in free agency

He’s buying something other then a house for his mom, but a bed really
by Curse of Bobby Layne 50 Years Strong on Apr 25, 2009 5:36 PM EDT reply actions
I hope it's Beanie since Marino's of the board
by Runnin' Rebel on Apr 25, 2009 5:36 PM EDT reply actions
You know... if 2 or 3 more offensive players go...
we are guaranteed to get one of the good defensive player we need… guaranteed!
I hope you are right

Could see Chargers taking a running back
by Curse of Bobby Layne 50 Years Strong on Apr 25, 2009 5:38 PM EDT up reply actions
I hope we realize this
and make a deal with Houston. 5 picks wouldn’t be a huge investment, I don’t think.
We can have Backus 1 more year and improve our interior O-Line a lot in the 2nd or 3rd
but we DON’T have a MLB
Who would you guys want from Ole Miss...
Peria Jerry or Michael Oher?
by damnitdamnitdamnit on Apr 25, 2009 5:39 PM EDT reply actions
I think he could fall to #33

Saints take
Malcom Jenkins no suprise

The Chargers
Could be our enemies this draft. They need an OT and an MLB. Let’s see if they hired MIllen overnight
where was our predict the pick thing at?
anyone have the link?
Mine is completely destroyed

you know
I wouldn’t be too pissed if the lions took maclin. our return game is miserable.
Oher
With QB as our first pick, we have to protect him.
Can’t wait for your coverage of the Pistons draft man. It’s been a rough season
Brian Cushing

he probably could play MLB but I don’t see it

Crap...
if Houston takes Cushing then Chargers may take Rey Ma or Oher. Maybe we get lucky and they take Everette Brown
Here comes the D run
I could actually do clay matthews… though I think Laurinitis would be more sold. Fill a hole
My POD mock draft selection was right!
2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).
by Hyperion Ecta on Apr 25, 2009 5:51 PM EDT up reply actions
Id rather have Rey Rey than Oher..
MLB needs to be signed , sealed, and delivered asap
Getting close to our next pick
What SD does is huge. Don’t take Maualuga!
Pride of Detroit, SB Nation's Lions Blog
Alright, SD is a huge liability for us...
If we can get them to take a WR or something, we’ll be in very good shape
I'm nearly dying

What Goodell says to every rookie at the podium:
“The NFL is run by the mob, If we give you an order, don’t refuse or you may end up in a ditch somewhere. Oh Welcome to the NFL by the way”
Holy S**t...

One more offensive pick (not named Oher) and...
we have our shot at Rey, Lauranaitis, Oher or Jerry… guaranteed!
maybe..
I got a bad feeling rey rey is coming off the board.. he shouldnt have slipped this far
Just a heads up, I will be creating a new open thread after our pick
Once I get the story up, anyways.
Pride of Detroit, SB Nation's Lions Blog
Sounds good to me
As much as I’d like to take defense, I don’t know if you can pass on him.
Pride of Detroit, SB Nation's Lions Blog
hmmm...
not too bad, but we would have to get Hood or James L at no.33

just a few comments
1. We won’t play Stafford much for a year
2. we can limp through with Backus for a year IF we upgrade our interior O-Line immediately
3. we need defense
Anybody with dreads is automatically a beast
Polamalu, Larry Fitz, Maualuga, Sims you can’t beat the dreads/long hair
I like Oher or Perry
protect Stafford. They paid enough for him, get a guy to block for him and let him start.

Some guy just reported that it could be Freeman, Maualuga, or someone else
Pride of Detroit, SB Nation's Lions Blog
Now what does denver do though?
I thought they would look to Freeman at 18
trading up doesnt make sense

Josh Freeman is the pick!
Broncos are next. Two to go boys!
Pride of Detroit, SB Nation's Lions Blog
I hope not
But I don’t have a good feeling. I would be willing to part with a sixth-rounder to make sure we get him.
Pride of Detroit, SB Nation's Lions Blog
Guess they were worried
That Denver didn’t love Kyle Orton as much as advertised
by HoorayForEverything on Apr 25, 2009 6:02 PM EDT reply actions
If they go Rey rey, Laurinaitis
I am scared the lions jump on Ayers or Everette Brown..
At least three players that I prefer are still
meaning we should get at least one of them
2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).
I agree
2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).
by Hyperion Ecta on Apr 25, 2009 6:05 PM EDT up reply actions
After watching whats going on..
I am hoping Jerry falls to 33
I think Cleveland takes Maclin
because they knew that Tampa Bay and Denver wouldn’t take him
The way it's looking we are gonna actually have a choice, instead of reaching like usual
2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).
Okay how about this...
If CLE takes a WR, we take Maualuga and trade up from #33 and get Oher…
Any takers?
depends on the cost
If we could do it without giving up a bunch I’d say yes

huh….just realized that I probably saw Larry English play in college, NIU played a game at Wisconsin that I went to….if he played that day, I didn’t particularly notice him…
I went to high school in Dekalb
We played our home games at NIU stadium.

someone jumping up to take rey rey
i would believe it in a heartbeat
wow, this is crazy.. just imagine if you were a Browns fan
dude omg, if they take Pettigrew i laugh
If we were actually considering Pettigrew
I hate our staff..
Let's go get us a middle linebacker
Don’t mess this up Mayhew.
Pride of Detroit, SB Nation's Lions Blog
Ok tough choice for Detroit
Here is the first test for Mayhem ..
Oher or Rey Rey, what does he do?
if we take pettigrew i vomit right here on my computer
take your pick
Who do they think is better? i say it’s Rey Maualuga.

by Runnin' Rebel on Apr 25, 2009 6:15 PM EDT reply actions
If we get Rey Ma, I'll actually feel a tiny bit better about not getting Curry at 1
don’t blow this Mayhew
what if...
we trade downto mid 20’s and take oher and with the trade get a 2nd rounder somehow and take James L and Hood
Haha, my brother just...
hypothesized that because of our reputation, the eagles thought we would draft Maclin.
by damnitdamnitdamnit on Apr 25, 2009 6:15 PM EDT reply actions
New open thread will be up a few minutes after the pick
It will be necessary since this place will explode no matter what.
Pride of Detroit, SB Nation's Lions Blog
trade down for oher...
trade backus as well and get a second rounder and take James L and Evander Hood, there ya go. Damn, pick is in, just hoping for no Pettigrew
Who is?
The Gosder Cherilus of this draft.
by damnitdamnitdamnit on Apr 25, 2009 6:18 PM EDT reply actions
Wow
They just now started to talk about the Lions. After they already have their pick in. Fuck ESPN man
with the 20th pick...
what the hell, I loved the Stafford pick, but Rey Ma and Oher there you take this bs
Best QB and Best TE so far
Get Mack at 33 and we get the hat trick

Hey guys, seriously
He’s a lion now, im sick of all this bashing, you need to support him because hes a lion..
yeah.. toss that crap my way now when i complain
Sometimes?!
At least they’re giving Stafford Weapons. great WR, great RB and now a great TE. They just need someone up front. and a ton of defense.
"A child of five would understand this. Send someone to fetch a child of five." ~Groucho Marx
let's see how it plays out...
disappointed but it helps Stafford more than an OL at that spot I think
I don't have anything against Pettigrew
I like him, but with Oher and Maualuga on the board I don’t know
He better be the next Dallas Clark
2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).
We still have the worst D in the NFL!
It doesn’t matter how good he is.
by damnitdamnitdamnit on Apr 25, 2009 6:23 PM EDT up reply actions
Look Pettigrew is a great player, we got a great player..
But Mayhew just pissed me off.. like blow up his car angry
This is the same goddamn pick
as Stafford… yeah, he’s #1 in his position BUT WE DONT EFFING NEED HIM
There's a bright side here, guys.
We now all have a good chance to be a starting Middle Linebacker in the NFL.
by Trysdor on Apr 25, 2009 6:23 PM EDT reply actions 1 recs
maybe
they like laurinitis better than rey and have now figured he’d be there at 33?
Okay... we're all a little disappointed because we...
were thinking Rey, but Pettigrew is a good player. They can still get a good defender at #33. Let’s regroup here…
I have guns...
I just someone to come over here and shoot me in the face.
