This draft has kept me from doing my HW

I wonder if the teacher will understand

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 5:45 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Oh man

Better tell him that you’re a NE fan or something otherwise he’s gonna have expected you to quit watching halfway through Saturday

by Nate D. on Apr 26, 2009 5:46 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Darius Passmore

We should draft him because he has the coolest name of any prospect

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 5:46 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

What is he?

A QB or WR? If not then the name doesn’t fit…

by ZWC11 on Apr 26, 2009 5:47 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Grraham Gano K

At least with our track record, he would be a future starter

by Liontotheextreme on Apr 26, 2009 5:48 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I find it interesting to look

at the perennial top teams in the AFC and see what they drafted. Pittsburgh, NE, Baltimore. Predominantly D and OL. Guess we know their priorities.

by WBL on Apr 26, 2009 5:49 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

WOW! Detroit has reached a new low

The crowd in Detroit is yelling “Let’s go Cavs” and it’s REALLY loud. Sounds like a home game for the Cavs…

by ZWC11 on Apr 26, 2009 5:50 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Thanks Joe D.

I don’t care if it’s about salary, trading Billups was dumb. Not as dumb as hiring Michael Curry, though.

RIP Pistons. It was a great era.

We'll be back

Give it 2 years and we’re right back in it

My roommate argued with me

to no end that we needed to get rid of Chauncey. I stopped following them after they did.

AI my ass

Carolina

Got Captain Munnerlyn

NOOOOO!!!

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 5:51 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Codagan stll there

but we won’t draft him. We need someone to replace Jason Hanson

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 5:52 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

nice

Green Bay’s draft positionally:

DT
LB
OT
FB
OT
DE
DB

by Nate D. on Apr 26, 2009 5:55 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Maybe we'll take Hoyer

So he can sit on the bench with Stanton all season and reminisce their good days at State.

by lionsfan22 on Apr 26, 2009 5:55 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Haha

I would seriously cry if they did that.

i would take boone

by londonlion on Apr 26, 2009 6:09 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I just don't understand this thought process

No O-Line throughout 7 rds and then an RB, with decent ones still on the board? Really Mayhew? Really?

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 6:10 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

You know they're gonna come out

and say “we can work with the line”

by Nate D. on Apr 26, 2009 6:11 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

It's all gonna backfire

When Schwartz finds out it’s against the rules to put in a brick wall rather than a real O-Line

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 6:12 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

just more lions running for their lives

they have to run fast and try to avoid
LIONS Football.
GOOOOOOOOOOOO LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIONS

by Bratagin on Apr 26, 2009 6:12 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

The good news

Lions are damn fast

by Nate D. on Apr 26, 2009 6:13 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Considering

We only have one starting Guard. I don’t know what we’ll do. I guesss Loper is starting?

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 6:13 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

In all honesty

I like Loper.

I think we should draft the Dos Equis guy

by Nate D. on Apr 26, 2009 6:14 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Cornelius lewis looks like a good guy too

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 6:14 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

only hope for oline

is that they pick up where they left off…i must say that the best they looked was the in the final games when they got consistent play together as a unit game in and game out…i still thought some upgrading would have been done…

by londonlion on Apr 26, 2009 6:15 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Perhaps next year

When they invest 2 picks on O-Line (We should’ve had 1 this year, they have to make up for it) and get a real starting MLB

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 6:16 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

MLBs are overrated

What scheme is it that doesn’t have one?

by ATL Lion on Apr 26, 2009 6:17 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

with simms & peterson i'd run a 5-2

i ran it once in madden…great run d…but weak pass d

by londonlion on Apr 26, 2009 6:19 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

There still wouldnt be pressure on the QB

by BIGWalt2990 on Apr 26, 2009 6:19 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I heard the lions have a scheme where they replace there MLB with a little kid with welches..

and hope the kid is so cute they just give up the ball.. it’s a pretty interesting technique

by MatthewDC on Apr 26, 2009 6:18 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

The Lions are going to transcend football

And run a 4-2-4. Like a 4-3 but without the mike.

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 6:18 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

How about a 1-5-5?

I think there’s actually a formation like that in Madden. Pretty interesting to play with.

His name is Roary

and he can do a damn good backflip, if that’s what you mean

by Nate D. on Apr 26, 2009 6:16 PM EDT up reply actions   1 recs

Roary Rumors...

…yeah, but I hear he has a problem with keeping his jersey on when he leaves Ford Field. I think I saw an article in the Freep that said he’s not allowed back at Wendy’s?

by Mushy on Apr 26, 2009 6:18 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

hopefully he can play also

When the rest of these yahoos get hurt

So last year under millen we had a terrible first day, and a mediocre second day..

This year we have a possibly amazing or disastrous first round, and a Mayhem Madness 2nd day….I just don’t know what to think..

by MatthewDC on Apr 26, 2009 6:16 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

potential oliners

jason fabini, marc colombo, pete kendall all still fa olineman…depth if nothing else

by londonlion on Apr 26, 2009 6:17 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Holy shit

There was a 2nd team all american C that just got drafted in the 7th round…

could have had him

by Nate D. on Apr 26, 2009 6:18 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Indeed

It’s obvious the “Idiot’s Guide to Football” book Mayhew was reading was missing the “O-Line is the most important part of the team” Chapter

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 6:20 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

what he didn't realize

Was that it was a notebook he dug out of Millen’s desk with that written in Sharpie on it

I still owe on my season tickets

maybe I shouldnt pay the rest of it

by Bratagin on Apr 26, 2009 6:20 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

We are running a modified wildcat.

Basically they snap the ball to Grew, and tell him to run, and they all go eat sandwiches

well cory schelleniger and dominick riola

are huskers and they worked pretty good for us

by lionsfan64 on Apr 26, 2009 6:27 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Dom?

Why do people always say that Dom has worked out for us? I’ve really never seen him do anything special other than get blown up on the goal line and step on his quarterbacks feet.

by Bratagin on Apr 26, 2009 6:24 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Lydon Murtha

Is not on the O-Line, he’s the new TE

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 6:25 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I was thinking this (in all seriousness)

They drafted for talent the entire draft. They traded down for 7th rounders to pick up the need guys so no one can say they didnt draft for need

by Nate D. on Apr 26, 2009 6:25 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

it's too late to get quality at need that late...

late is not for filling need, it’s for fliers, risk guys.

by FeelingBlu on Apr 26, 2009 6:27 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'm not saying they're getting quality

I’m saying that on paper they can say LOOK we drafted a T!!

by Nate D. on Apr 26, 2009 6:27 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

He's a workout warrior

Quote from DraftCountdown:

Doesn’t play to his workout numbers

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 6:26 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Ahooo
Classic “Workout Warrior” with a world of unfulfilled potential but he will need to stay healthy to maximize it…Finesse blocker and an intriguing developmental prospect who will most likely be selected much earlier than his tape suggests he should

I guess 7th is early?

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 6:26 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

If play matched athleticism

He’d be a top 10 pick, according to video

I mean the dude is massive.. they should be able to just be like hey big guy, go stand there and dont let them move you ..

you cant coach size

And 6-7 315 lbs is pretty big

by Bratagin on Apr 26, 2009 6:30 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

If we can get Gerald Cadogan

and move him inside to guard, I think we’ll have somehow pulled off improving our O-line with 7th round picks.

by Trysdor on Apr 26, 2009 6:30 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Apparently Cavs fans outnumbered Pistons fans, unbelievable

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 6:30 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I don't think he got drafted

Mayhew just called me. They just cut him..they didn’t realize he was an O-Lineman when they drafted him, he said to tell you guys “my bad”.

I agree

he’s not perfect, but he’s available…. call him now.

by FeelingBlu on Apr 26, 2009 6:34 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

hah

sounds like we actually did get good value with Murtha though maybe he WILL live up to his workouts…

by lionsfan22 on Apr 26, 2009 6:35 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Draft the kicker from USC

He put up 25 reps at the combine!!

Former linebacker, he can come up and compete with spare tire as the starting MLB!

by detpistons3 on Apr 26, 2009 6:35 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

We are going to have a Keg play MLB and hand out cups to the other team..

Don’t worry, they already said the cups will match the plates that we hired at WR…

this is where ouy SHOULD draft projects, injury guys, and long shots…. perfect time to draft him….. unfortunatly we need help now!

You know what's scary?

Our first round tight end….was… .06 seconds faster in his fourty time. .06 seconds. That’s terrifying. Six hundreths of a second.

Check him out....

One of the more colorful characters on the squad, Follett spent much of 2007 with a hair dye job featuring tiger/lion stripes (artwork courtesy of Greg Van Hoesen), earning himself the nickname “Ziger” for the “Z” dyed into the back of his head amongst the stripes. Even though the hair went back to normal for the final five games, the “Ziger” mentality remained. He is also an accomplished artist, as he has a wood-cutting hobby in which he has shaped plywood into life size replicas of teammates.
